I agree that lollipopping might be a good idea. I mentioned to MB a few weeks ago that the light wasn't penetrating to the lower parts of the plant, which I believe is the reason the bottom of the plant is yellowing.
I would again suggest getting a few of the CFLs to hang down around the sides of the plant (I think MB misunderstood when I said it before). There are plenty of lights for the canopy, but the plant is going to spend too much energy on the shaded growth/shoots.
If you don't want to hang CFLs differently, you could definitely lollipop the bottom 1/5 of the plant (many recommend doing the bottom 1/3, but I think that's too much, especially for this beautiful plant) :thumbsup:
But MB has also emphasized doing the grow w/o advanced techniques, and is definitely proving that keeping it simple can have tremendous results.
Keep the pictures coming! :thumbsup: I was bummed I didn't get to see the new growth yesterday when the site was down.
Looking good M.B, Keep it up will be a monster plant in no time.:thumbsup: What nutes you gonna use on her in bloom.?

WOW!
Ok first, what is lollipop?
Secundo, Heat is an issue because I have to close the door of the closet while i'm out for work, so lights are on while i'm not there to open the door, building some heat. 14 cfls in an 5x5 closet...do the maths, pretty substancial heat going on there.
More cfl? man there are cfls all around her, fixed to the walls on the side of the plant. I can't physically put more. (I'll post pics of the light today)
Bloom nutes? Same as last year! I'll continue with my nature's grow set of nutes and Big Bud bloom nutes! Search a bit in my last year's grow log and you'll see pictures of what I used.
Yellowing is normal at this stage, lower leaves (meaning first leaves to appear in plants life) are useless now because the plant have so many leaves higher!
Even in nature some branches or leaves that are lower just fall off! Energy spent on those leaves are energy lost.
I won't wright a novel on that, but anyway i'm pretty sure my little plant is as happy as a clown giving birth!
Pics on next post!
Thanks all very much for stopping by!
:thumbsup:
First 2 pics, side mount lights, very bright! Pictures are "real life brightness"
[attachment=o232162][attachment=o232163]
3rd pic is all lights, brightness is toned down for you to see all cfls in there
[attachment=o232164]
4th pic...bright?..no...AWESOME!
[attachment=o232165]
5th pic..out in the kitchen for a bit of sun bath..so is it bright in my closet?

Final conclusion, I turn the plant 1/2 turn every day, so lights on the wall can do it's job well.
Whatcha think?
:thumbsup:

Removing dead parts of leaves are best than cutting the whole leaf?
:thumbsup:
Just by trimming off the dead you are making your grow area safer in terms of mold etc. By leaving the remaining part of the leaf after trimming the dead off you are leaving the plant to digest it as food. if the dead spots are spreading then were talking another whole can of worms.... nice pics tho things are looking good :thumbsup:Quote:
