I want to ask those who have expressed they are practicing christians. What is your opinion on this phenomenon of eve-angelican christians building mall sized churches with big screen tvs etc while preaching intolerance. Where do they fall into your view of christianity ? Are they true to your faith? Or simply misguided? Also I hate to even mention it as it is such a loaded subject but on the topic of gay marriage. For those who follow the christian faith marriage is a sacred agreement between a man and a woman and a male-male female-female marriage would not be considered true. Now I understand and respect that as we live in a time where we are entitled to religious freedom. Where I become confused is George Bush etc's attempts to pass a constituational ammendment banning gay marriage. Do we or do we not have seperation of church and state in this day and age ? I am just confused how the government has any basis for banning wedlock between a homosexual couple and denying them the benefits of marriage ? Homosexuality is not a crime. Why is entering into a binding agreement illegal ? I just struggle to accept the idea our president is preserving the concept of marrage in the eyes of "the people." Religiously I do not see marriage between a gay couple being accepted and or practiced any time soon, but strictly on a equal benefits level why does the woman down the road or neighbor whatever who busts her ass at work not allowed to then provide support to an ill partner with her health insurance ? Essentially what that says to me is your relationship is irrelevant and untrue. Is this or is this not blatent discrimination? Again I understand and respect those with religious beliefs that do not agree with the idea of homosexuality and or the marriage of a gay couple but at what point did those believes become law ? Sorry to go on I just do not see the justification. I would truly enjoy hearing some opinions. Thanks :)
Because of the words you use and the way you speak about people. When you talk about "man love" and "homos" you let everyone know right where you're coming from. So, because people are offended by the words you use doesn't mean they disagree with you. They're just unwilling to treat their fellow human beings like complete and utter garbage to get their point across.Quote:

I actually had a Christain family move in next to me where I used to live and withing 5 miniutes of meeting them they had asked "are you Christian". The look on their faces when we told them "no" disgusted me. I could tell that at that very moment they had judged us as unworthy of their friendship. Forget who we were, or if we were good people. We weren't Christian and that was that. Simply disgusting.
I will start a thread over there. I really am curious as to what people who consider themselves christian think of it.Quote:

Slip, that post in no way calls anyone out.
I don't really understand why anyone has a problem with it. It's not like anyone is trying to force straight people into being gay. I believe people should be able to express their homosexuality without having to endure ridicule.
Yes ......some homosexuals do try to force their "ways" on men that they KNOW are straight....seen it and believe it. And another thing...if homosexuals are just wanting to be accepted for who they prefer to be and live their lives the way they choose..then do it and stop whining that because everyone is not like you then its because your gay...sheesh..some people are just butts and has nothing to do with who they prefer sexually.Quote:
