Maybe the death penalty is a succesful deterent, I don't know, but surely killing people to promote an ideological principle is well, kinda fucking ridiculous? In a society that says murder is the worst act one can perform upon another doesn't it seem profoundly stupid that those who are meant enforce this use the act itself to do so?
