We haven't conquered our own world, enough, to rid ourselves of the "survival of the fittest" nature. I'm sorry, but a chicken has to die in places where no vegetation can thrive.

If an animal is destined to be domesticated, no one in the world should be eating or killing it. If the animal is too dirty to be domesticated and can multiply in numbers, beyond belief, then God gave it a purpose to have babies for Human survival. I will no longer talk about this (if you don't mind) because I'll wind up sounding like a Jehovah's Witness.

God gave it a purpose for humans to eat, correct. and i think that's a good purpose for them, but since there is an option of getting all my nutrients from other things than animals, i would much rather eat some that is living and breathing and whose brain is more advanced than the rodents that die from the tractors, and actually, a lot of the deaths in slaughterhouses are wasted death because the animals are too sick to eat, so it's not like all the killed animals are even used. anyway, if i can't handle eating an animal because it makes me sick to even consider that, then there isn't anything wrong with me and a lot of the world, it's just a different way of looking at something that people who eat meat don't see, which is fine, cuz i don't give a fuck. i'm not getting poisoned if you eat meat, i just think the corruption of the industry shouldn't be so secret and the government could at least make an effort to fix the evident problems and corruption affecting the health of our nation.

statement for thought: in europe and canada the hormones fed to the livestock on our farms here are illegal because of the harmful effects of the hormones. what are you eating?

You can't eat rodents because their meat is no good. Chickens aren't meant to drive cars because they're food. Just like their unhatched eggs. But Blue Jay eggs are no good to eat. That's the difference between which animals we slaughter and which ones we domesticate.

Some of the people on this forum must be smoking something else apart from weed, comparing human sentient beings to a cow that says moo is not on.

Humans use logical thinking and understanding, comparing the wanton slaughter of millions of human beings during the holocaust to a cow farm is SICKENING.

Be a vegetarian if you wish thats no-one's business, do NOT use it to be an inhumane arsehole with as much brains as i could fit into a pea pod.

To people like you and me who have not leveled animals with ourselves, yeah, the comparison makes no sense, and is rather insulting. I couldn't even begin to guess how a holocaust survivor would respond to such a comparison.
However, I can understand if you hold a genuine belief that animals are of the same importance as humans, seeing an animal being abused would be just as horrific to that person as seeing another person being abused.

But, thats the ugly reality of the food chain. Things get eaten, and the process isn't always pretty or humane, even in nature.

While Annousenka still believes that all living things deserve to live happy, wonderful, infinite lives, Annousenka feels that she was reacting a bit too aggressively to some of those commenties! Annousenka eats meat, nowsies, but she would like to have a Raw Vegan nutrition programme (with the exception of some bee productsies) five days per weekie, so that Annousenka can still enjoy foods that she loves on the weekendsies ^-^

I am more or less...I try. Nothing satisfies me more than red meat and I'm basically a hedonist, but the ethical dilemma has me seriously limiting myself most of the time. I always feel two feelings after the very occasional big fat steak--utter bodily satisfaction and guilt.

I'm glad 80% of the people who posted in this threat 4 years ago are not around anymore, they seemed like 12 year old kids arguing their mothers ideals.

I eat meat, but more importantly I only eat healthy food along with meat.

I understand people who don't eat meat, but I also don't understand who are disgusted by meat... that's a brain disorder.

I don't like tomatoes, doesn't mean I feel sick holding or looking at one.

I also sometimes question vegetarians, because if we didn't live with today's technologies, and the whole industrial revolutions. People who'd have to plant and sow there farms for there veggies, fruits, and grains.. yet I have not run into a vegetarian that could do that kind of labor. They all seem frail, and weak with no muscle mass to be able to live that lifestyle, or do that days work over and over.

Another reason I think vegetarianism only came in existence is because of the availability of walking down the street to get fed at a trader Joe's.

I however in no way look down at people who don't agree with me, we all have been wrong at one point, and who's saying I ain't wrong here?
