Thought I saw a thread - pissing contest between growers on who was the master. Ended with someone wanting to talk to masters, then like the song, bang you were gone. Wondering what a master is(like a sensae?), or was it my clouded mind?

Well here in TN you can become a master gardener by paying $100.00/ yr and volunteering for so many hours at the local gardens ( parks, zoos and rich plantations that are now tourist sites) a few hours to weed- I have dealt with them and they know a lot about Gmo soybeans, corn and chemical fertilizers- don't seem to be worried about heirlooms or organically- something I have started noticing is most of our lawn companies talk about ' master gardener' now even though they just cut grass and haul mulch.
Now I imagine it might be different for weed, but with all the other opportunistic propaganda I see in grow stores and on the net.... I'm gonna have to be convinced.
However I have run into individuals here that I consider masters of the field- your in that group Ranger as are several others, who may or may not be old timers to growing weed. Mastering the growing process us recognizing the spirit of the plant, being able to listen, then act if needed. IMHO
Have meet some master? gardeners, Shovelhandle had a story of one at his church. Real plant killers, some of them. Most know their chems.
Like I say every post, I'm no expert, learning all the time!!
I actually looked into the program here. I want to have as much permaculture and medicinal herbs growing here as possible, my family has the irish dirt gene and we actually would garden as a family. I lost a brother to suicide several years ago and the best times he had as myself were in our gardens - we used to swap plants, fish filters and all the sort like thatTMI sorry..Quote:

I have yet to meet anyone within the group of master gardeners that I would ask advice from even on a sunflowerâ?¦.they are all about chemicals and mass production that isn't healthy for the plants, soil or people. They also called us hippies ( a compliment in my book) but took our cash at thier annual plant saleâ?¦.Then one of them got a look at my ethnogenic garden and was facinated that we had so many different ( legal) species growing well in our yardâ?¦shows ya what they knowâ?¦..
Sorry this come back took so long, but it came to me as I was being domestic(folding clothes), WHOSE the silver tongue devil, I'm betting you have several blue dresses!!Quote:

Smello, was looking for a place to send you an invite. I belong to 5 forums. Not being disloyal to cann.com, they're all slightly different & find find they all complement each other, making for a well balanced source of info & a lot of cool people to converse with. The one I think you'd like is MNS, Mr Nice Seeds. Someone said they got in easier by trying Mr Nice Guy.com? I think that was it. Keep trying till you get it, then once you get in, send me a PM. (Things seem slow because of the time difference) yep, they have PMs. :)
