Do you use a seedling mat or anything to keep heat on them? What temps DO you have your clones in?
No heat mat. The room is a fairly stable 70-80'F. I only use a heat mat if the ambient temps dip below 70'F- atm, they are all in use under my veggie starts, which live in a barely-heated sunroom that stays about 50-60'F.
I thought I'd throw in some eye candy just for fun because there won't be much to show in the way of buds for a few weeks yet. I intend to do the big flip on my DDs this weekend, but here's some to keep ya happy in the meantime!
1- A 6 week flowering pure Afghan, 'Afghani Dream', that I believe to be the pre-2000 version of the line. I love her! *smooch
2- Some month-flowering plants of all varieties. They live under a HPS k in a room that is built for a total of 2k, but I only plugged in the second lamp for the first time this morning because it just didn't make any sense to run the 2nd light over empty panda, lol!
3- Now the little guys in the trays are rooted and healthy enough to take the heat, so the light got put online this morning.
4- My ballast is up on a milk crate out of reach of high water. The other ballast is on a totally different breaker but it, too, is on a milk crate.
5- My timers are set staggered to as not to both switch on at the same time and possibly overload any circuits- this IS redundant I know because they aren't even on the same freakin' breaker, but I've got redundancy on the brain these days lol!
Very nice bathrooom.....:D
Damn you've got some LOVELY stuff starting there.....PARTY AT STINKY'S!!
Haha, when I vegged in my crawlspace my assassins would get bored and do the same thing. They always managed to make their way to the house ventilation ducts, and would surprise us in the middle of the night by crawling up our legs! I didn't mind, but the missus would completely lose her mind every time. Then, when she realized what it was, she'd pick up the little bugger and play with it. I found a cool picture of a ladybug eating a thrip, hopefully the attachment will work.Quote:

...one question, and sorry if it's already been addressed, but are you using Rapid Rooters for your clones? If so, do those things mess with pH as bad as rockwool or Jiffy cubes might?
Yup I'm using rapidrooters because I looooove them so much. And nope, I've never had the slightest inkling of a pH problem. They are composed of composted tree bark, some sort of binder -why do I have the feeling it's a rubber of some sort- maybe the same shit as WiltPruf? I dunno... gotta stop smoking so much; I remember the grow shop guy telling me the actual composition. I have no idea where he finds this shit out. I mean, it's all proprietary! Plus it's inoculated with beneficials to help reduce risk of mold. The compost component keeps pH very stable with no adjustment prior to use. Since switching to RRs my success rate has approached 100%, with any deaths happening during the vulnerable hardening-off period.
Lol @ your wife playing with the ladybugs! That's funny. They ARE cute. I want to get a family portrait this weekend that shows the incredible range of colors and markings among my ladybug population. They go from dull orange to vibrant red and the spotting is anywhere from completely absent to a dozen dots!
Perhaps rubber occurs to you because you can bounce them around like a superball.....:D
Thanks for your feedback on the RR's, I'm probably going to pick up a pack of them pretty soon. I've heard good things about them, and with confirmation from you, now I know they're true! Take care.
When are you going to transplant those seedlings? Wont the roots strangle each other?:(
How many plants are there all together?
Nice Set up
i love the RR too...works fine for me...and the gel...lol...that pic is cool as hell....used to love seeing a ladybug on a nug...good juju...everythings lookin great stinky;)
