I'm an American, an idiot, and will now fuck off.

So you are saying we should listen to a government that lies to us and give up our firearms? Why should we have a government that is corrupt and let it disarm it's own people? I believe the people should always have more power than the government. We are becoming more and more oppressed everyday here. Just more of a reason to arm yourself in my eyes. If you regard the facts more closely and look at individual states in the US, you will see that the high crime areas are the areas with the strictest gun control laws. States with low gun control have significantly lower crime rates than states where guns are heavily restricted. Look at our nation's capitol, Washington DC, high crime rate, you can't even own pepper spray there, yet there are gang shootings all the time and people dying there every day on the news. If you choose to defend yourself there you are automatically a criminal. Is this okay with you Ghost???Quote:

So who knows? Maybe if guns were illegal in the US, there would be less gun crime than there is now, maybe there would be more - theres no way to tell, you cant erase history and start over. I'm gonna have to change my position and sit on the fence for this one. I'm not saying that i've changed my opinion on guns: I still dislike them, just as I dislike knives, police, and Vanilla flavoured ice-cream. But maybe I was wrong when I said 'more guns = more crime'. Again, who knows? Its the same thing for the ''Legalisation of Cannabis will cause more Cannabis use' or 'Legalisation of Cannabis will reduce Cannabis use'' debate. No one will ever know. You can change the laws, or you can keep them the same, but you cant change whats happened in the past, and you cant just start over.
One more thing... I dont know why everyone seems to think that I hate America and Americans. I said that America has more guns and more gun crime than most places; I was using it as an example. I also said, judging by the amount of gun-crime, I wouldnt like to live in America because i'm safer here - even the police dont carry guns, I dont even think they own any.. But I didnt say I dislike America or Americans, and i'll enver say that, because its not true. So, yeah..
