Are you the way you are here as you are in real life?

hey all,

I was just smoking and brainstorming, I have come to a conclusion I present myself very differently on here than I do real life. In real life, I am a vey shy person who doesn't say a whole lot at first. I'm more of an observer. I laugh when a joke is told, and I listen, but all in all, I am pretty quiet and laid back.

On here, I find I can say a whole lot more than what's on my mind. I figure there is a much wider range of personalities to talk with on here. I can be serious, or I can bullshit about nothing.

My friends aren't like this though. They aren't deep thinkers, and when I do bring up some thoughts, they don't follow, so I don't bother anymore.

So are you potrayed the same personality on here compared to real life?

I would have to say that I most definitly portray myself on here as I really am outside of cyber land...

However I am not shy..and I can see it from your perspective tooo....It is easier to talk to people on the internet....

I am a straight laced business owner in real life. Very serious and to the point.

None of my friends or business associates know I smoke weed.

They would be shocked if they knew who I really am.

Here I can be who I am. A pot smoking outlaw. Life is good!

No diff...

i pretty much stay to myself in real life... don't say much, quiet... never offer my opinion... even with that, i hardly offer my opinion even if it's asked..

i'd say so except for that part...

Yes, and I look pretty much the same as my avatar, but without the goatee, beret and clamdigger pants, lol. I may add some of those items one day for my complete "hep cat" bohemian look.

People here only get my sweet, lovable side......I'm a bit more outspoken in real life.:D

:hippy: Yes I could say that I am not as blunt online as I am in real life. I tend not to take to much of what is said in here to heart, but in reality I have been knowen to have a very sharp tounge and I am not one to back down to things. :jointsmile:

When I come online its a chance for me to get away from things, and I do try to enjoy my time in here with all my cyber-friends. :rastasmoke:

using the net is kind of a double edge sword. i would like to post more here, but i like spending time outside too. i hope you guys see me as a fun loving stoner, who likes to cook, and play music.

Yeh man all my friends are like that too....its pointless tryign to get something off your chest, or bring up a serious subject.

though i attempt to be a bit more outspoken here i find myself falling into my real world patterns. like most people i have several different personalities that i use, depending on who i'm dealing with. i have one for business, one for friends, one for strangers, one for family and probably a few others that i'm not really aware of. i think that all of those different aspects are starting to meld together into a single online personality.


either that or the meds really are working.

I'm quieter in real life and don't say nearly as much as I tend to write here. Most people in real life think of me as fairly shy. I'm also funnier in real life because you can see my facial expressions and my eyes. I have been known to express rather wicked, humorous thoughts when they occur to me. In real life, too, I rarely find myself in a position to moderate anything.

In real life, it's not that I'm shy, it's that I focus on the friends I have (like 2?, the real friends at least, which will be 0 in a week :X), and everyone else can just fuck off. I'm not mean to anyone, but sitting in the corner of the class listening to these weirdo's conversations while listening to Godspeed You! Black Emperor and wondering how someone in Junior year in highschool doesn't know something like 8x6 frustrates me for some reason. But from everyone elses prespective I'm anti-social and spend way too much time thinking about life.

im similar in that way... also i talk a lot less on here than i do in person... but otherwise basically the same... humorous because the way i talk is like extremely civilized mixed with extremely ghetto/bad grammar(not sure if that shit'll make sense ta any of u but idk)... just like real life

I'm very shy in the real world! very shy..I don't say much unless I know the person, and I almost completely shut down verbally in big groups it sucks!

On here I still don't say too much. But I feel way more relaxed here..I'm proably borderline anti-social lol

I'm more outspoken on the Internet...iv learned its to my benefit to keep my opinions to myself at work...as for friends I'm the same. I'm the "crazy mad scientist" to all my friends. They all come to me for advice since I'm so wise.

On here I think I'm a lot more shy. More of an observer half the time. I'm getting a little better at that though. I'm also more blunt in person and maybe even more agresive. On here I try to ignore things that would get a pretty big rise out of me in real life. I'm not one to back down from a debate about something I have a fairly strong opionion on, but here half the time I'm either too stoned to think of the words I want to use or what people have already said got me too flustered (I know I shouldnt let what people say on the internet bother me, but it does) so I just dont say anything because I dont want to come off as mean. My friends describe me as a tart when I'm stoned.

I'm in no way shy, but sometimes I don't feel like talking at all and just sit and think about life and my surroundings. I have 100% confidence in myself when meeting new people or hot girls.

I'm generally funnier. Also I get more emotional. But other than that I think I am pretty similiar. I act up more in real life though, nothing to really complain aabout on these boards...

that basically describes me... but im not as modest im cocky as fuck, i run my mouth a lot, but i back up EVERYTHING i say (with one exception in my whole life) an many ppl hate me because they wanna be me (or more like me at least) i like the boards cuz in real life every1s jealous of me, on the boards im just another random stoner

I'm exactly like this in real life. Which is probably why I'm on my 4th husband, and why the previous 3 are still in love with me.
