the two biggest are about a week old..smaller one is just like one day old. Bucket contains four more seedlings.. using 26w CFL's at the moment..got a 250 HPS that I'm going to use in a couple weeks for them.

Looking good d00d
I hear blueberry is great, im growing bubblegum myself
Here's the biggest one today..
Remember you will only retain the dark hues and hilights of that strain with mid 50's flower temps. Blueberry is very good, but will be best at low flowering temps.
intreasting who has that kinda cooling power?
haha, I wish I did. I would have a 400hps in my closet rather than 250. Temps are getting up near 80 during the day in closet now...getting near 70 outside..not all cold.Quote:

Temperature monitoring for this is a real pain in the ass, but again, for the connisuer, it's the art. And the colors you will get are amazing.
Difficult, but not impossible. Why else grow these color rich strains?

Then buy a strain that does not depend upon environmentals that you cannot provide for.
Blueberry and other purple strains need to be cool to get the full genetic potential released and thus be the best they can be.
not doubting, hardon, but where in the world did you hear that? i'm asking as a blueberry grower, three harvests with that particular strain. got blue's and purps at 80f day and 74f night temps. absolutely fantastic blueberry smell and taste after cure, very couching...
i'd love to know about the temp/potential thing...

So you're saying that growing a purple strain is pointless for anyone who cannot provide an intricately managed environment for it? My friend, I think you're wrong, and I believe that getting a purple phenotype is just luck. Cause sorry friend, I'm not going to put an air conditioner in my closet just so my blueberry plants can be purple...either they're purple or they're not. The color means nothing to me, I just want to grow these plants.
haha, sorry I've tarnished the name of the blueberry strain by not giving it the full genetic potential that it could've released. :S4:
kick back. he's just saying that most people expect the vibrant colors and those colors come with lower temperatures. don't get all butt hurt about it!Quote:

I found that to be an unnecessary statement was all.
Here an update is...
Just flower it over night when it gets cold outside leave a window open it'd be pretty easy to acomplish
looks like the leaf twisting is going to start soon. classic trait of blueberry. and btw, most blueberry pheno's will NEVER turn blue or purp. the may keep a dark hue to the leaves, but for the most part have vibrant green and neon orange buds. would you like a pic? as far as providing for environmentals, temps in the 70's is ideal, so why lower them to the point of stress? seems counter productive to me.
you just keep doing what you do mark "thumbsup:
thanks kp. yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing a few more pics..just give me more of an idea of what to expect. :greenthumb:
mark, i'm going to have to find my other memory card. here's some i had on hand...
k. yeah, hoping for good results from these. planning to LST all three and top them once.Quote:

Here's pics from today...
i think that what harddon is talking about is growing blueberry and purple strains outdoors. if you do this, the cold temps. slow the growth and turn the leaves different colors depending on the strain in hand, making more resin and prettier plants. i think there is a beautiful picture of what i am talking about in this months "High Times"
just a guess though....
Cool grow man! got some blueberry on the go to.
kindprincess you said its a classic trait of blueberry to have twisted leaves. Can this also start in young seeds? as iv noticed the same trait in 5 of my own. also the seedlings with twisted leaves are growing slower. I assumed the seedlings were week and im thinking bout removing them from the op.
Hey, Markass. Glad you got a grow going now. Seems you're quite passionate about the subject from reading your posts, so I'm glad you can now grow. It's definitely rewarding.
Those plants are looking good, man. Starting out great! KP is the Blueberry expert up in here, so take her words, fo sho. Sup KP.
Damn, I miss Blueberry. Been a WHILE since I've had a toke. :(
:D
Good luck, Markass.

At first I thought the Mrs. gave the seed halves a lil help instead of letting them fall off on their own . Every set of leaves was this way though . There's a pic. of it in Stinkys mutant thread .
Markass - keep up the good work bro . those lil fat indica dom. leaves look sweet !!
Peace
Crispi
tom the hippie; twisted and warped leaves are a classic trait of the blueberry strain. they may go through a one week lag, but they grow out of it. it's generally seen in the first set of true leaves, and even in the first pair above the cotyledons.
i don't know why this strain has that quirky characteristic, but it's seen in all of my beanlings and small clones. it doesn't affect the plant, and should not be stressed over; it will go away with time.
aww, f<r>og! you give me way too much credit babe ;) luv you too.
and of course, i'm not going to leave out my most scariest pitt ever... hi crispi! :p
love, kp
Thanks KP! sorry for wondering of the line of your thread Markass! Thanks :)
Yeah man, I'm very excited...I think I've got all of the missing links that I've been lacking the previous couple of tries..Thanks a lot  :stoned:Quote:

Haven't grown too much, but here's one from when I watered today.
Here they are today..You can see from a couple of pics the twisted leaf bit I believe that k/p was talking about but they're doing great
Looking real healthy so far. How far have you been keeping the light from the plants recently? I don't even see it in the past few shots.
Using a 26w CFL above each plant...mostly have to remove them to take pics. Sunday I've decided will be when I fire up my 250HPS..I'll be able to monitor temps cause it's my day off. thanks for the comments :thumbsup:Quote:

thanks! yeah, newer leaves don't seem to be showing it though so maybe they've grown out of it.:stoned:Quote:
