Chavez to U.S. officials: 'Go to hell'
CARACAS, Venezuela - President Hugo Chavez told U.S. officials to "Go to hell, gringos!" and called Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice "missy" on his weekly radio and TV show Sunday, lashing out at Washington for what he called unacceptable meddling in Venezuelan affairs.
The tirade came after Washington raised concerns about a measure to grant the fiery leftist leader broad lawmaking powers. The National Assembly, which is controlled by the president's political allies, is expected to give final approval this week to what it calls the "enabling law," which would give Chavez the authority to pass a series of laws by decree during an 18-month period.
On Friday, U.S. State Department deputy spokesman Tom Casey said Chavez's plans under the law "have caused us some concern."
Chavez rejected Casey's statement in his broadcast, saying: "Go to hell, gringos! Go home!"

While I do hate most politicians and believe they are scumbags I have a sense of respect for Hugo. Truthfully he did give more rights and power to the poor, his reforms have benefited Venezuela's poor population, which is about 80% of the population if im not mistaken. His visions of democratic socialism is improving the economy and helping the majority of the people in the country. Why must people, especially those who don't live in Venezuela, bash and bitch about him, calling him a dictator and saying he is a tyrant to his people when it is untrue, and that he must be "sniped" or taken out? Second, of course there are going to be people that disagree with what he is doing. It's a democracy, not 100% of the people in the nation will agree with him, it just so turns out that the majority do. I've seen anti-chavez marches before, mostly all of them came from their rich neighborhoods, wearing their jewlery, expensive clothes and whatnot, claiming he's a dictator and that they wish to oust him. Don't get me wrong, there's thousands of them, and it's THEIR country so they have a right to not agree with him. But their are millions of people that wish him to remain president, the majority of the nation, hence the word democracy.

Perhaps Bong just goes along with the Bush/America loving image because he's afraid that he'll be thrown in Gitmo if he criticizes his government.
Now don't get me wrong. I like the model of the US Constitution, but I would really like to see the US live up to it. I mean, Bush trying to ban gay marriage IN YOUR CONSTITUTION really upset me. Here, it is perfectly legal and is of no big concern and the only people who don't like it are the radical Christian right wing nuts. Everyone else is fine with it. Kind of weird that have a country have the act legal...and another one making it illegal in their constitution. Seems like America is starting not to become the land of the free.
