I have a hypothesis which must be tested!

This could be a great moment in stoner science.

Problem:
Many stoners use bongs to filter and cool their smoke with water. The problem is that the conditions to do those things are polar opposites.

One can use cold water to better cool their smoke, but they give up the ability to filter out harmful toxins. Alternatively, they can use room temperature or heated water to increase filtration but they must sacrifice a smooth hit.

Hypothetical solution:

Replacing bong water with Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

Hydrogen peroxide is sold at all drug and grocery stores diluted at 3-5% as an antiseptic, mouthwash, and hair bleach. It costs a few dollars USD.

Since Hydrogen peroxide is more reactive than water my theory is that even super cooled (it has a very low freeze-point) it would still filter out a majority of toxins.

Iâ??m dying to test out my hypothesis but I donâ??t have access to a bong right now.

So here is your mission:

Go out and get some Hydrogen peroxide and use it to filter your smoke and then tell me about it. I want to hear about its use at room temp. and after itâ??s been in the freezer.

Do it for me, do it for yourselves, do it for SCIENCE!!!

You guys who think you're getting poisoned aren't right. H2O2 is what is used in crest white strips, and it's great as a mouth wash. It would be as safe as or safer than using listerine as bong water, however safe that might be.

but i dont use a bong for its filtration purposes. I love a bong because it cools the smoke, and traps the smoke in for great THC delivery. that shit is balla.

It would cool the smoke good, that's without a doubt. But will it filter out the THC?

It makes sense, but I agree - I'm not sure I'd risk the exposure to the hydrogen peroxide over the exposure to the byproducts of the cannabis smoke.

And yes, the stuff at the drug store is like 3%, it's mostly water, so it probably wouldn't hurt you to try it once just to report how it effects the smoke.

For the record I don't have a bong either but I am interested to see the results.

For clarification:

I am not suggesting people use pure hydrogen peroxide. I donâ??t even know where one might buy some.

My experiment is biased on widely available, heavily diluted, 3-5% stuff that anyone can buy at any domestic store.

Perhaps a two chamber bong? But no, peroxide in the bong won't hurt you, so long as you don't drink it. Good luck finding pure peroxide. Even at 30% it can be used both in the liquid bombs they were worried about a month ago and to make MDP2P (immediate precurssor to X) from safrole.

The problem is that THC dissolves in alcohol but not water.

Since Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is basically a more soluble form of water (H2O) is hypothesize that hydroperox will not absorb THC but be more effective at absorbing tar and toxins.

well damn, how much thc do you think actually dissolves in alcohol ? i know its not enough to make a difference in high. it just tastes flavoured and hits smoother because of the alcohol vapours.

I might do some research on it and will possibly try it out sometime. I don't have a bong or bubbler so I can't try it right now but this sounds like a great idea. I don't know if it can be potentially harmful, though.

I'm not closedminded, I just don't want to inhale some grimey ass HP smoke for the sake of a slightly smoother hit. I dont even like the smell, much less the taste.

No shit. On the other hand I see no point of putting it in a bong, both THC and the shit in the smoke should dissolve equally well (or not) in water or a mostly water plus a little bit of something that ends up water solution.

okay guys, to solve your problem of arguing...i tryed it...it fucked me up so much more, i think it killed brain cells or somthing cuz i havent felt right in like 7 hours...it gave me a headache. its really strong shit and when i sucked i could feel it kinda burning my lips from bubble splatters. guys try it if you want to get really fucked up, but its kinda painful, and not natural, and natural is what its all about when smoking the sweet sweet cheeba.
