First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
Hey guys, started a couple of plants about 2 weeks ago, just thought i'd show a pic of one of them, the others doing ok but growing a little slower. I've got them in a corner of a room with some black out sheeting over them but plan on making some sort of cab for them soon and moving them into the loft/attic. What do you guys think so far?
Sorry bout the shit pic i took it with a camera phone

Just moved my two plants into the loft, all seems ok, i've got them under a 125 watt envirolite, probably add a couple of small cfl's when they're bigger. For ventilation i've got a bathroom extractor fan blowing air out at the top just passive intake though the floor for now. Temps are 26 C now but i need to check them at night to make sure it doesn't drop too cold. Gonna start the nutes tonight, using Bio Bizz's Bio-Grow, think i've left it a bit longer than i should, was going to start at two weeks but forgot due to being busy building my new grow space. When does everyone else start nutes? Here's a pic to show the progress in the last week. :rasta:

To be honest I don't know which is which ha ha, i'll take a picture of each in a couple of days when i've got the lighting in the attic sorted, it's too bright with the growroom light on to take a picture and the only other light up there isn't bright enuff!

Cheers buster, since i've got an envirolite and i'm told they don't have much canopy penetration i'm thinking how i can get an even canopy. I've topped plants in the past but am curious about lst. Any advice which way to go guys?

First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
Well i've topped both my plants this week so growth hasn't been as quick as the last couple of weeks, but they seem ok and the top two shoots have started growing now. They're bout 10" tall now so i'm thinking they'll be ready to flower in a week or so. Some pics showing the new growing shoots on my bigger plant, the two of them inside my tent, and how my tent looks from the outside. How's it look? Any tips for improvement?

Looking good, keep up the good work.
To help with the even canopy thing you can always put something under the plant pot, to raise the whole plant up a bit. I have to do this in my vegcab as I can't move my light.
As for nutes I have been told to start after you get your first 5 fingered leaf but start on about 1/4 of the recomended dose and slowly go up to the full dose.
hope this helps.

You can clip by just pinching the very newest set of leaves off the top. This will make the plant bush out more and promote thicker foilage. It will not hurt the plant in the least. I know it's hard to do at first as it feel like your hurting your baby, but it will be okay. If your grow room isn't the largest it will be nessasary.
Also, you could look up how to FIM you plants. This way you sometimes get more than three growing points as compared to a regular clipping. This method isn't always consistant but it can't hurt to try. Hope this helps - good luck!

Thanks for the comments guys, keep them coming.
Just had a quick look at my plants, seem to be doing well, i've added 2 x 20 watt daylight cfls. Thinking of starting flowering in a couple of days, don't want them getting too big!
Hey doob, how's your lady doing? Whens the party? ;)
Yeah I got two heads now :)

Started flowering about 5 days ago and they've already stretched quite a bit. Seem to be doing ok, a couple of the leaves are curling downwards a little and one has a small burn at the tip, can't be a problem with heat as the highest my temps get to is about 26 C so i'm thinking it's a bit of nute burn, but i've only fed them twice with 1/2 strength bio bizz, so i'm not really too sure, gonna flush them later I think they could do with a flush anyway. Heres a couple of pics i took before, again sorry about the poor quality, i'll buy a proper digi camera one of these days!

I know this is a little late, but LST is the shit. I just tied down one of mine, look at how much better the light hits the whole plant compared to the tree shaped ones. Just look at all the tops already, its only been tied over like 4 days now (tied down the day before the pic)

These babies are really growing fast at the moment, checked them this morning and they'd grown into the light, not much damage i'm glad to say, just a few fingers burnt on 2 leaves. I'm gonna have to watch them closely for a week till they stop growing upwards. Hoping they'll show sex in the next week, i'm getting a little nervous hoping at least one will be female, wish me luck!

Hey Hudson, bad loss for the 'pool today but hopefully your grow will help you overcome the depression ;) What size pots are you using and after how long did you start to flower? Looking very good though :) I also don't really get 'pinching'. Do you pull off the top growth or just slightly damage them with a pinch?

First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
Hey guys thanks for the advice and encouragement, much appreciated!
Hey Zoid, yeah bad result but who cares when you got a grow going well (touch wood) The big pots i've got are 9"x9"x10"deep, need to transplant the one in the little pot to one of those in next couple of days. Flowered when they were around 12", that was just over 4 weeks i think. As for pinching i just cut the top growth of with my nail, dunno if thats whats meant by pinching but it seems to of worked but next time i'll use a blade as i wasn't very accurate and damaged a couple of leaves, don't seem to have caused any probs, i just got a couple of disfigured leaves.
Peace :rasta:

Hey Guys just thought i'd do a quick update with a pic.
Well both of my plants are girls :D They're looking quite different, which was to be expected as i dunno what one of the seeds i used was. Both look pretty good but the one that i'm assuming is the white widow is flowering a lot quicker than the other, they're both around 3 weeks into flower now and the widow has lots of bud sites developing but the other just has a few hairs, so i'm assuming its more sativa and will take longer, but hey i've waited this long! Here's the pic, let me know what you think!
Peace :rasta:
Oh and i bought a cheap digi camera so the pics are better now

Anyone know why in my last post there was no thumbnail for the pic? Is it something to do with the size?

First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
Awesome work man. I'm envious.:D
Quick question: though I'm sure I could construct one rather easily, where did you purchase your "tent" and do you have another pic or two?
I'm still a newb and had never seen that before. Thanks.

First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
Hey cheers kknight, i bought a regular grow tent from B&Q, it came with a clear cover but i figured i could use the metal frame and replace the clear cover with some blackout sheeting, I built the frame, put it on the sheeting, drew around it, cut and stuck it to the frame with electrical tape, cut a hole at the top for the exhaust and that was basically it! Could do with a couple of improvements, like the door opening isn't great, i just cut it so it would overlap a little and i tape down the corners but a little light does escape, i'm gonna sort that with either a couple of zips or some velcro. But it works fine for now and only cost around £25, much cheaper than proper grow tents i've seen. The height in my loft isn't great either, and most grow tents wouldn't fit in it but the one i got from b&q came in 4x1ft sections high, so i could just leave out a section and make it shorter. Hope this helps. If you still need pics let me know if there's anything in particular you wanna see and i'll take the pics next time i'm checking them.
Peace :rasta:

First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
Hey guys first update in a while, both plants are at nearly 7 weeks flowering, the white widow is looking and smelling great, a few of the hairs are brown, i'd say it's only got another week or two left, thinking of taking a sample this weekend? ;) The other unknown bagseed is flowering really slow, it only looks like it's been flowering for maybe 4 weeks not 7! Maybe i'm just being impatient but after 7 weeks i was expecting some solid looking buds! The skunk i got it from pretty poor but i wanted to grow it just to see if i could grow some decent shit from it. What do you guys think? Am i being impatient or won't it bud properly because the bud it came from was crap in the first place?
Peace :rasta:
PS i'll post some updated pics later

hey man, nice grow, you say the bagseed looks like its less developed, are you sure there isnt a crack that light can enter at night? that may be it, unless you move them around or know its sealed...

First grow in a while 1 white widow, 1 unknown bagseed
I'm into week nine of flowering, and considering i'm still pretty new to this and i've been using cfls for the first time i'm pretty pleased with what i'm gonna get. I've taken a couple of small samples from the bottom branches and it's a real nice smoke, a lot better than what i've been able to get lately. The buds arn't as big as i'd hoped but i've got ideas why that is, so next time that should improve. I had a problem with low temps, especially in the lights off period, so i've got the temps up with a small electric fan heater. Also i'm gonna upgrade my lighting, i was working off 50 watt per sq ft but as i'm using cfls i think that should be closer to 80. Maybe i should upgrade to a hps but for now i think i'll just get 200watt enviro to add to the mix and see how that goes, i really don't want the expense of cooling that goes with hps for now.
The bagseed is still a long way from harvest, i'd say at least 3 or 4 weeks, but i'm being patient for now, it's unlikely i'll grow it again, but from the looks of it it's gonna be a big harvest, there's hairs everywhere now. Think it just takes a long time to flower and i've probably slowed it a bit too with the temp issue. Anyway untill i decide to start my next grow, i'll keep looking after it.
Hey weedos, just check the basics are right man, enough light? fresh air? right temps?
kemical your plants looks pretty good considering the accident, be careful not to overfeed too, i feed bout once every 7 days tops and minimum of once every 14 when the plants young.
