this is just crazy, 10 years later and they finally got a suspect, the dude is ill in the head, i dunno if he actually did it, i say do dna evidence and that should be it.....but im watching inside edition special on jon benet and shes just so gorgeous and its so sad, this karr dude looks sicko.....anyways what do you guys think? did he do it?

He's admitted to the murder but as you say he's a bit loopy. There will always be doubts to most crimes even serial killings so there probably wont ever be 100%.

There were doubts about the Boston Strangler actually being the killer.
There's been a lot of contradicting things that this Karr guy has said, such as he drugged her, which toxicology reports concluded there was no harmful substances in her body. He said he raped her, which tests showed there wasn't any penis/vagina penetration. So take that how you will.
Personally, I don't think he did it. He's just a weirdo.
And I think the parents suck too.. not because of the murder, but dressing that little girl up in gobs of makeup and bleaching her hair blonde while she prances around in little clothes? Yuck. I understand it's the 'pagaent world', but seriously... it's a lil disturbing to me.
From what I've read so far, his story has too many holes in it. There's a question about the timing since he said he went to her school to kidnap her, but it was during the holidays and school wasn't in session. They also question motivation; he says it was accidental, but apparently the injuries were very extensive and not what one would consider comes from an accident.
But you gotta figure...there has to be something there. He was familiar with the family, he's been caught in compromising sitatuations before, one of which I think cost him a job in Alabama. There has to be some sort of connection. If he didn't do it, I wonder if he knows who did or what happened. It's all bizarre!

I found the whole beauty contest stuff completely distasteful, too. Children are so beautiful when they're unadulterated and allowed to behave and look like children. That whole child beauty pageant thing troubles me on so many levels. Not the least of which is the complete and total emphasis on looks rather than on character or intellect.
Dont want to start anything but for intellectuals we have spelling contests for those sort of children that is judged on the intellect alone.

Yes, I agree. I find those pageants unsettling. I actually was watching a program on it the other day. They dress up their 4 year olds, yes, 4yrs old, like cheap whores. The little girl was saying she wanted to make babies with one of the boys, and her mom would ask, "do you think he's cute?", like, COME ON. They are kids for fucks sakes. They also had to sing a song, with a million pounds of pressure on the kids. Pushing them so hard yelling, "you're not going to win acting like that!", like what, a 4yr old. Then when the little girl forgot some of her lines, her mom gave her a nasty look and she ended up crying her eyes out at the end of the show. Mom was so hard on them. :(Quote:

I'm not sure what motivated the unfortunate Mr. Karr to make that claim, assuming it's an untrue claim. If he ismaking his story up, I agree with what Daima suggested earlier: that he was motivated to get out of Thailand, the country he has been in. He also seems clearly motivated to grab his 15 minutes of fame and appears to be relishing the spotlight. Assuming he's not a DNA match and they can't find beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt-worthy circumstantial evidence, he won't have risked much simply by making a public confession. They really need concrete scientific evidence to indict and convict him of capital or first-degree murder. He'll still face his pre-existing child porn charges--and he may get some slight punishment for making a false confession--but he doesn't risk losing his life for the false confession alone. Again, I think everyone's eager to see what comes out of that DNA testing. If he is a match and the police can put him in Boulder on the night of that murder, I hope he fries.
On the subject of child beauty pageants, has anyone seen the movie "Little Miss Sunshine" yet? We went to see that just a few hours ago, and I loved it. There's a darling little girl in the movie, headed to just such a pageant event with her wacky family. Go see it and see if you don't like the way the film handled "differences," both in her family and in the child's own unique beauty.

Jon Benet's body may have been killed the day after christmas, but her soul had been dead for years before. Someone who does that to their child, who steals their childhood away, their integrity is gone in my eyes. I think she was probably being punished for not being such a sophisticated woman at the age of seven, and things got out of hand.
What kind of a parent wouldn't search every nook and cranny of their house if they had a missing child? Come on now.

I dunno, when you read through the case documents, I think it just all adds up to the parents. Their alibi doesn't seem real, it seems made. I mean, let's look at it this way. Her body was found in the basement. In all fairness, it wasn't an ordinary basement but still. Kids love to "run away" in secret areas of the house, yet her body wasn't found until her father and a detective go looking for it? If their pet dog was missing they would have searched.
It all sounds so cold. It's all so calculated, like they walked throughout the house, breaking windows and making footprints, saying to themselves this is how it happened. Except for the ransom note, I think that was thrown together when America became interested.
