Cannabis Gathering

Okay, so I have thought of a really great idea. I grew up going to all kinds of gatherings Rainbow gatherings, hippie gatherings, whatever you want to call them. And they are basically pretty easy to put on. They're normally help on state parks and require few funds to put on.

I'm thinking we should have a cannabis gathering. Well we couldn't legally call it that. But everyone on these boards should get together for one weekend event. Aside from the plane tickets to get whereever, it would be very low cost. There is enough musicians on here to provide entertainment, and we could grill out lots of grub. I would be willing to plan something if there was enough people here with tents that think it's a cool idea.

It would be awesome if the cops showed up. How are they gonna arrest us all? They probably wouldn't say anything. It would be pretty cool to see everyone on this site, you would have to have a badge or something with your cann.com user name and avatar. THAT would be awesome.

Sounds like a blast. Too give you an idea on plane tickets. If you buy them in advance you save shitloads of money. Example: My cousin bought a round trip ticket from Columbus, OH to Los Angeles and it was $168 dollars. It would cost you $500 dollars to drive it. The distance is 2112 miles

You would have to make it a place that everyone could go to. Cause you definitely want everyone to come from all over the world.

i'd say we'd all meet somewhere, then head out to the middle of no where, so we couldn't be found... no worry of cops... carry us a few grills back there, quite a few, fairly large coolers filled with meat, beer and soda's for those who don't drink... but one goddamn rule, no goddamn arguing! leave it for the boards...

I'm sorry I am sure you have a beautiful country but after hearing so much negative stuff about it I suggest everyone comes to england.I have heard the lake district is a beautiful place with lots of quiet smoking spots but I have yet to go myself.

Let me just add that I am not saying you may not see cops because that is a risk almost anywhere you go and especially with loads of people and smoke lol

I only smoke weed and I have never been to a rave so only know they are good by hearsay.

but again, the money issue comes up

whoa there, you've never been to a rainbow gathering if you can believe that statement. there is a helluva lot of work done to set up an annual...run 1,000's of feet of water pipe AFTER a spring is found and tapped, numerous shitters need to be dug (under sanitary conditions), ovens are made from the earth found onsite, trash p/u needs to be organized, fire watch set up, 1st aid stations, multiple kitchens (one in this case) needs to be onsite, and much much more...IOW, rainbow gatherings are not at all easy to pull off and requires much work and coopertion if 20-some thousand people are to be fed and sheltered.

instead of planning something separate, come to colorado this summer! it'll all be done for you and everything in place by june 25th...and lasts thru and beyond july 4th so there's a couple weeks to set up a separate camp on the land for canndotcomm-ers...plus it's centrally located this year!

With that said, a Marihemp / Cannabis.com gathering for people here could be cool, but the logistics could be challenging - money, travel, security (big issue for international travel in or out of U.S.), etc ... but it's certainly an idea that may work if enough folks are able to put it together ... in the meantime, the Seattle Hempfest (there are some other gatherings too that happen each year, but am not as familiar with them) is the next best thing... check it out
