Late, I had a problem with getting onto this forum. Seems we're getting alot of traffic with overgrow being gone. I'm interested. Could you take a picture of your 400 w cfls'? What variety of tomato are you growing? Since my lettuce is only green leaves, I'm keeping them under fluoros. They seem to like it better, than the sun they were getting, weird. Buttercrunch gave nice small heads of lettuce and delicious. Like the taste of miner's lettuce, if you know what I mean. Very tender and no bitterness what so ever. Much better than the stuff at the grocery store.

Unfortunately it was an outdoor, 100% organic soil grow.
Not next season though!

thanks everyone...this would be a great thread if we all contribute anything about growing veggie's...It's for fun...Not to mention that, we all will need this knowledge if Bush and the cronies keep up their chitman...lw
I have peppers fattening up now, let tomato's go, because I ran out of money and pure blend pro at the same time.

We have little indoor growing spots all around our house. Our entire property is under a canopy of old growth trees---not to mention the deer---so anything but ferns have to be grown indoors.
Here's a strawberry plant that loved the bat guano, but is now starting on the Miracle Grow stakes that I mistakenly bought a long time ago. Strawberries are cool to grow because of the runners they send out...

Maybe after I move.I'll start a garden if I have time.

don't let bugs from your outdoor veggie garden hitch a ride on your clothes into your indoor gold mine.
-
Indoor Growers @CDot "Veggie Society Forum"...Hosted,
very good advice, GK.
also, keep your pet's out of your grow room...if your cat get's in your grow-room, go in there and scream like a banshee...they won't come back. Now I am not saying to hurt kitty's or to scream 'at' the cat...Just scream like a banshee...I did this last year and the cats have not been in my room since. lw LOL hehhehhhehhehehehhhh

I have been buying seeds from these folks for awhile now www.tomatogrowers.com ... they specialize in exotic tomatoes, peppers, etc ... they have some incredible varieties ... Im doing some "Sugar Snack Hybrid" cherry tomatoes, as well as bi-colored Hillbilly heirloom tomatoes, and some bell peppers, etc ... seeds are CHEAP ... 30 seeds for under $2, etc ...

Indoor Growers @CDot "Veggie Society Forum"...Hosted,
thanks bro, another great place to pick up cheap seeds is walmart at the end of the season...I bought about 40 varieties @ $.05-.10 per pak last year

Kewl thread, I'll be dropping by frequently. I also have an interest in growing 2 or so tomato plants, and a few pepers in my grow room. I always wondered if it was a problem with having the other "crop" in there. Guess not, I ass-u-me same princples apply. Germ, veg, flower, harvest. Can you take clones from veg plants as well ? This will kick ass being able to have a 'mater sammich in December with a REAL fuggin tomato. I do not know what the hell those things are the markets sell during the winter. Red colored somethings I think they should call them.

Nice tomato plant man!:)
I got pissed at my tomato plant and threw it out of the grow room.. Now it's in the living room and it's still growing.. I've spotted three tomatos!:p:)
-
Indoor Growers @CDot "Veggie Society Forum"...Hosted,
with tomato's/pepper's...you run 18/6 they flower/fruit on their own schedule...as long as you don't pinch off growing tip, they keep vining out...you can layer them 30' or pich the top off when they are 3' and they will produce.
Pepper's doin better...
just bought 300 pots off ebay so I can start a few different types of peppers...
glad to see ya, here lw
-
Indoor Growers @CDot "Veggie Society Forum"...Hosted,
I can just keep tomato's and peppers in my veg cab on the 18/6 then. It will be going all the time anyways since I will be taking clones from the "girls" after the first batch has been established. Need to get my timing so I got about 3 foot tall girls all done vegging and ready to go into flower as soon as the harvest.
l8er on,

I had a tomatoe plant in with my first grow and i ended up getting 2 harvests out of the 1 plant, I have now moved the plant outside just to see if i get a 3rd crop. I also have strawberries and pepers growing, i will post some pics @ a later date.

cool. I have abunch of beans and radishes, as well as corn tomato's, peppers, squash and the'ol lady plant some pumpkins....I am just waiting for them to grow a little more. I dumped some used nutes into the outdoor garden the other day, ti seemed to juice them a bit.

I did some indoor veggies back in the day. Heres a trick. Flower on 12 12 ish then when the veggies start to form put them under 24 hour light. Your veggies will continue to grow and be done twice as fast. I did it with three varieties of peppers

I was planning on having the tomato plant in the room with the cannabis plants, and then when finished, make a nice salad with the tomatos and eat it on the first blaze!!:D
But now, I don't believe I will have enough tomatos to make enough salad..:o

Looks very nice Lw. Good luck with trying them outside.
-
Indoor Growers @CDot "Veggie Society Forum"...Hosted,
Ok Lw I am growing peppers that look like yours but I was wondering if you need to polinate the flowers to get the bell peppers to grow??
-
Indoor Growers @CDot "Veggie Society Forum"...Hosted,
great question and the answer is yes...I recommend you buy a book called hydroponic solutions by growing edge (check out mags post#7 above)(it has Q nad A style format and is quite an easy read...it's just like they took Q and A off the veggie forums at growing edge or something like that...and, there is also an indoor bible for veggies...both available at hydro shops, and amazon, I suppose.
although I will always be glad to help if I can.
you have to shake them a little whenever they flower...to help them along. Outside the bugs would take care of it. you can go to the hydro store and buy some ladybugs too!It took me awhile to get some decent peppers to grow. I going to be growing them in drip buckets/hydro and some in soil, since I seem to have the gift...
did that answer your question?

I just use a small modeling paint brush so move the polen from 1 flower to another, well it worked for my tomatoes and lowriders.

ok I will try the paint brush thing.. I am trying to do this without books but I am reading as much as I can.. (I looked at a few books in the store and they all said different things.. and I can figure most of it out.. might buy one later).
Thanks for that..
And if I can add to it, is there any specific plant to plant polination skeem? Like are there male and female or.. man I must sound stupid.. Can you use different flowers from the same plant? I have spent too much time reading about MJ cultivation.. haha.. I should buy the book! :(
I have two bell pepper plants about to open flowers all over the place.
