| Red Colombian Haze | PPP | Bubblelicious | Bagbeans |
You may recall the Mighty Freeze grow that finished up almost 1 month ago. Shortly before the Mighty Freeze was harvested, I had begun growing 1 bean each of Red Colombian Haze (Colombian Red x Neville's Haze), PPP, and Bubblelicious. Shortly before I planted those, I had planted 3 bagbeans. Well, since I have wholly failed to update the MF log, and since all of the new ladies really deserve a spotlight of their own, I thought I would start a new thread - where we now find ourselves.
We join the action already in progress.... As of today, the RCF, PPP, and BBL are on DAY 21 of veg. The bagbeans are on DAY 41 of veg, and are starting to show some pre-flowers, so we'll consider tomorrow DAY 1 of flower, how 'bout? I had to remove 1 bagbean approximately 11 days ago, as he let his balls hang out. He is now hangin' out in my bathroom until such time as he will find a new home for others to hone their grow skills on him. I'll try to throw in a picture of him too.
All of the beans were started with the paper towel method, followed by Jiffy pellets. The Jiffy pellets were stripped of their netting (no roots showing through), and were transplanted into a small planter with MG organic soil and some Green Light rooting hormone. Once the pedigreed beans were ready to move into planters, I transplated the bagbeans into the next larger sized planters where they currently reside. The bagbeans received some Superthrive every other watering (when it wasn't raining), and received a couple of doses of Schultz 10-15-10 Plant Food Plus. I just gave the bagbeans their first dose of Green Light SuperBloom 12-55-6, and they seem to have gobbled it right up. I gave the pedigreed beans their first dose of Superthrive and the Schultz mixture, and they didn't take it that well. Luckily it rained after watering, so the rain served to flush a bit. The only other additive at this point is some neem oil to keep the dang bugs away, and it appears to be doing the trick - also serves to make the leaves all nice and shiny; I add this explanation, so y'all won't think I'm a big enough freak to wax and buff each leaf. Lastly, you will note the bagbeans have been lst'ed, and they are enjoying the heck out of it!
Of course, you'll note the relative youth of both the pedigreed and bag beans. They were started pretty dang late in the season, but I have plenty of time left before it starts to cool off here. I know for certain the bagbeans will be able to fully mature and flower, but there is a question as to whether the pedigreed beans will have sufficient time. I may have to finally break down and begin a small scale indoor operation to finish them up - finally getting off my lazy ass to do something constructive, but it would be a worthwhile cause for certain.
Work has been bustin' my chops lately. I've noticed several others who find themselves in the same predicament. With that said, I will try to keep this thread updated, and I will not hold the lack of responses against anyone - it's tough keeping up with all the aweesome grows happening on this board.
Alright, that's enough rambling for someone who hasn't even smoked yet, eh? I'll get on with the pictures, which should prove more entertaining than my writing. As always, I welcome any and all questions and advice, both of which should lead to my ladies being healthier.
First set of pictures will be today's photos of the pedigreed ladies. The first photo is of the Bubblelicious in the background and PPP in the forefront. The second picture is of the Red Colombian Haze. Then, I will include an apical shot of each in the same order. Following this post, I will share pictures of the bagbeans, which are probably more entertaining at this point.

| Red Colombian Haze | PPP | Bubblelicious | Bagbeans |
Here are today's pictures of the bagbeans. They have some serious fan leaves on them, and are enjoying the lst'ing which is allowing several new sets of pre-flowers to emerge. I truly enjoy this technique out of the few I have tried to this point.
You will note the last picture is of the male that is now lounging around the tub instead of the pool. This picture is on DAY 34 of veg. Unfortunately, the male is the bagbean plant where the fim'ing actually worked the best - you will notice the different shoots.
The bagbeans already smell pretty dank - I truly understand this term now, as it describes their smell perfectly. My Mighty Freeze didn't have much smell until she was well into flowering, and her smell was a sour citrus. Well, enough rambling again.
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the additional pictures.

Jake,
I was hoping you were going to start a new log. They all look to be off to a good start. You should have plenty of time outside for the bagseeds. If you have to move them inside to finish are you going to try the LEDS? I think if ever I go inside I'll go that route.

BeFree, I'm glad you found some enjoyment with the Mighty Freeze - I'm having more fun with her now that she has ripened into a mighty fine mind freeze! I look forward to you joining me on the journey with these pedigreed and bagbeans. I welcome any and all of your comments and questions along the way, and look forward to seeing more of you, my friend!

luna, it's dang fine to see you again! Sorry I didn't respond to your post in the Mighty Freeze log, but hated to keep bumping it up, when there are many more worthwhile logs, and mine had really come to an end.
The bagbeans shouldn't have any problem at all finishing outdoors. In fact, they gobbled down the new bloom nutes so well, I gave them another dose today. They are really beginning to pop now! I'll have to see about getting some better macro shots of the flowers; I've even notice some pistils already. They look much different than the Mighty Freeze. It's nice getting a different perspective on growing from the autoflower, which was pretty cool.
I haven't settled on any given setup if and when I move inside. I had thought about buying a tent setup through HTGSupply, but am now leaning toward framing and building a box in my attic - I'm just really not certain yet. I want a quick and easy setup/takedown option, but I don't want to spend a lot of money. Can you tell I'm having a hard time making a decision on an indoor setup? I still have a few months before I will need to have something in place, and I'm a heck of a procrasinator, so I'm sure I will take all of the time I have. We'll see where I wind up....
Be good out there, luna. I need to pop in on your WWs!

painretreat, it's good to see you again! Have you determined what kind of indoor setup you will be going with in your new casa? Seems like I came across a thread in some of my meandering, and you were looking at possibly dedicating a room in your house plans for growing. That would be incredible! If I were you, I would definitely hook up with hatch - that dude is a mad scientist when it comes to grow room technology and engineering same! I look forward to seeing you around more, pr!

killa, all up in the house! Dude, it's good to see you again! I hope your job has settled down a bit, especially having a young son. Seems like I saw some Matchbox cars on the floor of your bathroom in one of your pictures - kids are a trip! I couldn't imagine life without them. I need to check back in on your log to see how your beauties are doing; last I saw of them, they were a rich, dark green, and were some seriously bushy plants!
Yeah, dude, I am stoked about the Red Colombian Haze. The cross with the Neville's Haze is what really intrigued me enough to include beans in the order. The beans were unusually small but well developed - very strange. I guess because a dominant sativa strain is such a slow developer, it took awhile for the RCH to sprout, but it's taking off pretty good now. I wish I could find some haze around these parts, but I haven't been in the buyin' business in a long while - fortunate for me.
I hope all's well with you, my friend! Be good out there!

Shov! As always, it's an honor to have another fine grower stop into my humble abode. I am anxious to follow the development of your NH! As stated above, it was the primary reason I purchased the Red Colombian Haze, because of Neville's involvement. How many jars of bud have you been through since your harvest? My Mighty Freeze is finally curing just right - I had a taste last night, watched a bit of tv, and slept like a baby - ahhhhh. My only problem was this dang jumpsuit being so dang tight!
Thanks for stopping in, Shov - it's always a pleasure having you visit!

Dang, anbesol, you know how to work that guilt, my friend! I'm hangin' my head right now. But really, I don't know what I'm going to do from 1 second to the next, so I didn't know I was going to start a new log until right before I did. Now, when are we going to put that blunt together with Bomb? I'm about ready to start it up, what with it finally being the end of the week! I hope you have an awesomely fantastic weekend, my friend!

PJ, I appreciate the compliments. My pedigreed seedlings aren't looking the greatest since I burned them a bit with the new Schultz nutes. They are on the road to recovery, and should be looking much better within a few days. All new growth is lookin' great! And, the bagbeans are looking mighty sporty these days with all of their preflowers. I have even spied a few calyxes with pistils poking out - strangely enough, the pistils are already dried to hairs?
As for the smoke on the Mighty Freeze, it's fantastic! It's a really up high; I normally only take a few bat hits and am soaring pretty good. It normally keeps me up for about 1 hour before I am able to go to sleep (if I smoke before bedtime), but I sleep great on it; and, I wake up feeling like I have not even smoked! But, I can't wait to have more variety!
Thanks for stopping in, my friend! Be good out there!

bomb! Dude, it's good to see you again! Yeah, I'm pretty quick and spry when I wanna be - the jump suit is a bit restrictive, but what are you gonna do, eh? Thanks for the compliments on the ladies (keeping fingers crossed for the pedigreed beans). I need to check in on your Bubblelicious, as you are the resident expert now! I hope all's well with you and yours - we need to get that spliff together with anbesol, eh? Have a great weekend, my friend!

I may not have time to update again for a bit, so I thought I would add a couple of extra pictures to this fledgling log. The pedigreed beans are on Day 23 of veg, and the bagbeans are on Day 2 of flower (it's probably been a couple of days longer, but I'm not that good at math anyway, so let's just roll with the Day 2, ok?).
The side shot of the pedigreed beans (Bubblelicious, PPP, and Red Colombian Haze - from left to right) shows how I accidentally burned up a few fan leaves over fertilizing (I had to look back at anbesol's prior message to make myself feel more guilty about my error). I flushed them pretty darn well, so they shouldn't have any more problems. I am going to be better from here on out. Sometimes I just get a bit anxious to see more rapid growth.
The bagbeans are growing like weeds! I have tried to include a couple of closeups of the bud development. The first bud shot is of the left plant, where the bud is currently growing sideways due to a serious 2nd lst I put on her - she was crazy out of control! The 2d upclose shot is of the right plant, and shows some calyxes and pistils if you look really close. I'll round out the group with a shot of the left and right plants, in that order.
I hope everyone has a great weekend filled with plenty of smoke/vapor/edibles! Aloha

Jake, I am an avid reader of your threads, don't always post and do subscribe!
Answer your ?'s; Without the pers. mess. sorry I have to share here: I have come to believe I need both an outdoor and indoor set-up. Have some legal limbo going on. However, I doubt that will be a problem. I can grow anyway and am thinking I want to in my shed and buy stuff I can re-use to my indoor made grow room! Have a lot to do to my lot to build. Plus, lots one more house can go in-in this hood. Waiting to see about the view! I have a gully (I own) so it may be a good spot, on the side of the hill, where no one can see! I think you live fairly close to me! Just a guess! From reading all your threads and posts. We tend to stumble in the same grow roooms!:rastasmoke:

killa, I appreciate your dropping in again, my friend! I hope these new plants do put out some nice smoke; it's strange how quickly the Mighty Freeze is disappearing, so I need some ladies to fill her shoes! It's hard to believe that your plants are only 11 days older than mine, as they are leaps and bounds ahead of mine! You have quite the bushes, and mine still look like seedlings!
Whoever will be getting your small plant will be extremely lucky! And, that should bring even better karma your way, my friend! Be good out there!

BeFree, it's good to see you again, and I appreciate the compliments to the ladies! The older bagbeans are already flowering pretty good. They have some serious action on the main colas, and have some pretty dang good development elsewhere. The lst'ing is exposing some good secondary bud sites, so I feel they will produce some decent smoke. They are already larger than my Mighty Freeze was. It's interesting to me to see the different genetics of different strains firsthand.
As for you being a noob, so am I, my friend! The best way to gain knowledge and experience is to jump in and swim. The information and members of this board have greatly increased my knowledge base, and getting my hands dirty is providing quite a bit of experience. It's a great thing!
I'm about to trot out and check on all the ladies, so I'll pass along your greetings to them. I try not to talk to them too much, as my dogs will get jealous and may end up eating them! Be good out there, my friend!

painretreat, I'm happy to see you again, and happy to hear you will have the option of growing both indoor and outdoor! Outdoor growing is almost maintenance free, except dealing with rain and insects - IMO. Both of these issues can be fairly easily addressed too, so just checking in on them every day or 2 is quite enjoyable. I'm developing a plan for an indoor setup, and will have plenty of help on design and build from family - without any help, I fear my setup wouldn't amount to much, but I'm excited as my family has some serious construction experience!
Your location sounds great! And, I know you must be excited planning the construction of your home. I know it's not all fun and games, and it can be quite stressful at times, so I hope you have plenty of green in reserve to help ease back when that stress mounts. I can't wait to see your indoor and outdoor setups! Good luck along the way, and enjoy the process! Take good care out there, my friend!

anbesol! DUDE! Glad to see you up and around as much as you have been, what with having some harvested Hypno and NYCD - it has to be close to harvest, if not cut already! I know I lost track of some time after harvesting the Mighty Freeze. It's nice to kick back and enjoy the fruit of your labor. I was trying to explain the joy I get out of growing; 1/2 of my fun, at least, has nothing to do with smoking. The act of growing, of helping these plants reach their greatest potential is just really cool, and it provides me a great outlet. I never thought that I would have mj cultivation as a hobby!
Thanks for the compliment on the shade of the plants. Those last pictures were taken in full-on noon sun, so they appear a bit lighter green than they are, as the sun sort of washed out the pictures a bit. The bagbeans are really doing well though - they are a very hardy and fast-growing strain. Strangely enough, they appear to be 2 different strains, even though the seeds came from the same bag. 1 of them appears to be dominant sativa, and the other really looks to be hybrid - not as broad a leaf as a dominant indica. They also have purple stems, which I am pretty certain are not from a nute deficiency, so I'm thinking they may have some purple in their blood somewhere along their genetic lineage.
Well, I'm starting to really ramble now. I should let you get back to your life. It's always a pleasure to visit with you though, my friend! I hope all's well with you and yours!

I had to share a few pictures I took the other day. I was in a location that was just filled with great opportunities for great pictures. My eye didn't catch all of them, and my photographic skills are not the strongest; but, a few of the pictures turned out ok, I think.
I always like to ease back and relax as much as possible, as work and life can sometimes speed along way too fast and stress is killer. It helps me slow down and relax by really opening my eyes and enjoying the world around me. Stopping to smell the roses along the road of life is a good thing.
I hope y'all enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

anbesol, now that's a good question. I feel like I live all over the USA these days. I know states in the USA are fairly large, and it would be difficult to track down any given person within any given state; but, I would prefer to keep my specific state of residence somewhat mysterious for the time being. However, I can tell you that for the majority of my life I have lived in the southern parts of the USA.

Yeah, I have to throw in some nature photos from time to time, and I had an opportunity to take a few this weekend. I visited a locale that was truly beautiful. There was even a nice bench swing overlooking the slow-flowing river. The swing was under a nice Magnolia tree which had flowered awhile back, exposing those beautiful, bright red seeds. My daughter collected quite a few, and we planted them in our front yard yesterday. I doubt they will grow, but I'd love a Magnolia tree in my front yard. I need to break down this Winter and buy some nice trees to plant in my front yard.
Dang good to see you around these parts, WH! I hope all's well with you and yours. Y'all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!
And, since I can't seem to quit posting pictures these days, earlier today I took a few upclose shots of the 2 bagbean plants that are beginning to flower. Y'all be good out there!

Looking very nice my friend,
Great job catching the over nute and doing the right thing by flushing as soon as you noticed!!! I don't how many people do the oppisite and give them more nutes and do more damage, then wonder why. Their is always that fine line with nutes and it depends on the strain also, what works for one doesn't always work for another.
I always found these auto flowers interesting, so you got me following this one.

PR, glad to see you again, and I hope all's well with you and yours. I'm glad you enjoyed those nature shots. I really enjoyed taking them. zebulon renewed my interest in outdoor photography, as he always has some great shots in his log. Others began sharing shots of their natural surroundings, so I couldn't help myself when I came across the surrounds in those pics. Magnolias are a favorite tree of mine. McDanger, I appreciate your compliments of the bagbeans, but they don't look nearly as incredible as your mother plant - she is a true work of art! If my ladies upon maturity look 1/2 as good as your MP does, then I will be ecstatic! The bagbeans are really beginning to develop their bud sites, and as you said the internodal spacing is pretty tight - it's hard to get a picture through all of the leaves. It looks like both plants will have a pretty heavy main cola, and with all of the lst'ing, there should be plenty of secondary colas. I'm really excited to see how these ladies grow in comparison to the Mighty Freeze grow. Thanks for stopping by, and I appreciate all of your insight into my proposed attic grow box! Be good out there, my friend!

should! Dude, it's good to see you. I can't wait to see your PPP at harvest! You'll have me lurkin' around your new thread and grow when it starts up. It sounds like it should be another good one! And, you'll have plenty of PPP bud to smoke while you tend to your new plants. My PPP is cruising along, despite my overfertilizing her. She is not as hardy as the Bubblelicious or the Red Colombian Haze, but she's growing pretty well. I'll share some new pictures here in a few minutes - you can really see how I screwed the pooch on the overfert, but all of her new growth is looking lush! Thanks for stopping by my log, my friend!

WT, it's a pleasure to see you around these parts! I appreciate the compliment, and I'll post some new pics of the Colombian here in a bit. She is looking really good, but I'm going to have to build an indoor setup for her to finish. I've got a pretty late growing season where I am, but she's going to need some long-term care; but, she's giving me an excuse to get an indoor setup, so I'm not mad at her one bit. I look forward to you stopping by more often, my friend! I can use all of the experienced eyes I can get on these ladies! Be good out there!

Their is always that fine line with nutes and it depends on the strain also, what works for one doesn't always work for another.
I always found these auto flowers interesting, so you got me following this one.

JG, thanks for the compliments! I owe any and all knowledge and experience to this board and experienced growers such as yourself. So, by paying me a compliment, you're paying yourself and this board a compliment. I thank you and this board for providing me a wealth of information and answers to my many questions. Without this board, I would not have the where-with-all to grow a darn thing, let alone the fine plant that is MJ.
You'll see from my pictures, to be posted shortly, that I didn't catch my overnute until I had burned quite a few lower leaves; but, the plants are still alive and kickin', which is the important thing. If you like autoflowerers, you should look at my last grow - the Mighty Freeze. She turned out really well - she tastes great and works wonders on my brain! Thanks for stopping in for a vist, my friend! Be good out there!

luna! I am glad to hear you enjoyed those nature shots. It truly is a beautiful location, and I had a blast taking them. The bagbeans are probably around 2 feet tall, and the pedigreed beans are probably around 9 inches. The bagbeans are twisted and lst'ed, but I think I'm close on size. They are really beginning to put on some weight now, and the pedigreed beans are too!
I can't wait to see your SM and WWs in some harvest photos! That SM of yours looked awesome last I spied her, and your WWs were really getting big! I know you will be happy to have your own MMJ again. Take good care out there, and thanks for stopping in again - it's always a pleasure to read your posts!

Not much to say about this update. Work is driving me bananas today, so I don't have much more time to get this update up and running. At least today is Friday, and we have a long Labor Day weekend ahead of us, eh?
The bagbeans are on Day 8 of Flower. They survived some overnute of the Green Light SuperBloom, with only a few lower leaves being scalded - their bud sites really seem to be popping now though! The last 2 waterings, I have just given them a drop of Superthrive, with only straight-up water yesterday - the day these pictures were taken.
The pedigreed beans are on Day 29 of Veg. They also survived some overnute with the Schultz 10-10-10. All of their new development looks great, but they lost some lower leaves to my error. Pics of the pedigreed beans will be found below in a follow-up post.
Enough of my rambling - let's get to the pictures before work interrupts.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Here are the pics discussed above. I hope you enjoy!
The first plant is the Bubblelicious; the second is the PPP, and the remaining pictures are all of the Colombian Red Haze. It seems like there are several people really interested in this strain - as am I - so I decided to post a few extra pictures of her.
Y'all have a great weekend!
Aloha

Dang, life can throw you some curveballs, can't it? Life has been a bit hectic lately, and I have been doing all I can to keep up with it, which has left me no time for my newfound hobby. You'll be able to tell the lack of time from this update, with the exception of the bagbeans who are looking pretty sweet still.
So, it's Day 23 of Bagbean Flower - the buds have really swollen since my last update, almost 2 weeks ago. The girls have been beaten up a bit due to a few matters outside of my control, but they have rolled with the punches better than expected. I hope to be able to pay them a bit more attention for their remaining days in soil. I know I will be able to pay them attention from harvest to cure to smoke! I will include updated pictures of them in this post.
Also, it's approximately Day 3 of Flower for the pedigreed beans. My Bubblelicious turned out to be a boy, so he met his maker. My Colombian Red Haze and PPP have been tossed about a bit, as were the bagbeans. The CRH is showing her preflowers a bit, and the PPP is showing some pretty good preflowers too. They enjoyed approximately 41 days of vegetative growth before the shorter days switched them to flowering. I'm not expecting too much from them, since I started them very late. Also, I'm not certain I will have the time to invest in my attic plans until these ladies have done what they're going to do. I will share a couple of pictures of them in a follow-up post.
Sorry for the lack of good pictures. I had to take these very quickly in an effort to put some form of update together.
I hope all is well with everyone, and I hope you have a great weekend!
The 1st 3 pictures are of the left plant, and the last 2 pictures are of the right plant. Heck, they're both right plants, right?

RCH is pic 1, and PPP is shown in pics 2 and 3. Hopefully, I can post some better pictures soon.
Brevity is beautiful.

Thanks much for your kind thoughts and words, PR! I hope to be slowing down here in the near future, and am really beginning to develop some plans for the future to possibly allow me a sense of happiness and accomplishment in a job.
I hope all is well with you and yours. Take good care out there, kind lady!
Well, I've finally had a chance to slow down a bit, at least for a couple of days. I did a bit more than just glance at the plants this morning, and what did my eye spy? The PPP is a dang hermaphrodite. I took some pics to share, trying to capture the female and male flowers in a single shot. I'll share the best I can, but there is a good picture of her flowers in the above post.
Now, it's time to spend as much time as possible with my kids. We're going out to play around, with some lunch and a movie. Maybe tonight I'll have more time to catch up on all of the incredible logs that have popped up like so many wonderfully gorgeous buds on this board. There are tons of folks I need to catch up with.
Be good out there.

killa12345, yeah, my life has become more hectic than I care to describe. Life takes some crazy turns, but you just have to roll with the punches. Sometimes we have plans for our lives, but God has His own plans for us. WH is an inspiration to me, as she has run up to a mountain, and she took the mountain in stride, just steadily climbing without losing any momentum in life. My issues are of no comparison to WH, so I will cease any complaining I had begun. Life is still good!
I truly appreciate all of your kind words, and I look forward to catching up on all of the new posts in your log and within all of the other logs. It's been awhile!
So, now that I am trying to settle back into a normal daily life, I am able to pay the necessary amount of attention to my poolside ladies. They have suffered a bit from neglect, but they are pretty dang hardy! These ladies dried up a bit, but they will be smooth from here on out.
I'll quit rambling, as I am truly seeking just to share some pictures with a few people who will be partaking of the bagbeans. These pictures are dedicate to that family member who will be assisting me in my attic space development! You know who you are! So, without further ado, here are a few pictures of the bagbeans at Day 38 of flower. Another few weeks, and they will be getting the choppity chop. Please forgive the bit of dirt on the buds, but I got a bit carried away edging around the pool.
Pictures of the Red Colombian Haze will follow in the next post.
I hope all is well with everyone who views this thread. I apologize for not getting around the board as much as I would like, but I have been all over the place the past month!
Aloha, mi amigos!

Here are the pictures of the Red Colombian Haze which has begun to flower. I was not expecting too much out of her with Fall on its way, but she may have a chance to finish up, as there is still quite some time before Jack Frost heads this way.
I went ahead and bent RCH over to allow the sunlight to reach more of her. She is a pretty little lady. Y'all be good out there!
