Call me a snitch if you like.

A certain member here has given me negative rep twice now for one post. A post that was created well over a month ago reporting a thread on pills that needed to be closed.

I replied to the first negative rep which had a comment attached "not cool." So I replied with a neg rep of my own. What is good for the goose is good for the gander, right. Not sure if I got that saying right, but what ever.

I than receive another neg rep from this same user asking is what I said was to be taken as a personal attack. I don't remember what I wrote to you, but take it as what you will.

Now to the point.

There are rules here! If I see something that is in blatant violation of the rules, I will report it. It doesn't make me a snitch, I'm more like a fucking vigilante. Perhaps I'm simply more capable of seeing the logic behind this rule, I'm not sure, but I do see a very valid reason we are not allowed to discuss other drugs. Therefor, I will help the moderators enforce it where I can.

Now that said, if you don't want me to report a post to the moderators, read the rules and don't post stupid and childish crap.

As for the one this is all in relation to. Feel free to report my neg rep to a moderator. I don't think there is anything in it that will get me banned though. I'm very talented when it comes to wording things. I know I was a dick in it, but am 99% positive I avoided a personal attack.

I got a negative rep and the words "not cool" attached for reporting a thread/poll that was very prejudicial and offensive. My negative rep was probably done by the same person that did it to you.

I like neg rep...it balances out all the free good rep that is given out...haha

I agree with everything you wrote. I have received negative rep twice and one of them was from Inferius when I reported a thread started by someone else about pills too. They wrote "Are you a mod, chill." but I took the high road and didn't return the negative rep. I have no problem following the rules, especially on a free website. If the owner was nice enough to make this site free (let's not get into ad revenues) then the least I can do is play by their rules in their house and help enforce them. The mods would have a hard time finding some of these threads if they were not pointed out. I also imagine some of these rules are here to protect the site. Respect the web site.

Helping to enforce the rules of a web site is different then telling the cops about others. The 2 are separate and independent.

What bothers me is when there is a thread that is asking a question and is violating the rules the rules of the website, some senior members will still answer the question. Why do that, most know better. Ignore it and the mods will get to it soon enough. Don't encourage the rule breaker by answering it.

I am giving you some rep for being cool like that Jagged even though it isn't much but hopefully it will make up some of what was lost.

I disagree about some of the rules on the site, but I am willing to follow and respect them as a member of CannaCom- others should, too.

I don't actually care much about neg rep either. What pissed me off is the fact I get called a snitch for reporting someone who is blatantly breaking the rules.

As FakeBoobs pointed out, this is a free site and while we are here we most follow the rules Sundance has given us. He is the owner of a site dedicated to something that most Nations still consider illegal.

From what I understand the rule is based on legality purposes. If some kid comes on here asking how many (insert what ever substance you like here) to take... and dies... this site could be facing serious problems. It is much easier to avoid this site getting blamed for some idiots death by simply not allowing any such talk.

Granted this is only what I think, I'm sure there are a number of reasons why it is in effect though.

On top of that, it only perpetuates the idea that weed is a gateway drug.

Are you referring to the thread I reported? I didn't read it.

If you are referring to the one I created about it, than the answer is no. Birdgirl responded to it saying she would take care of it and another member responded jokingly calling me a snitch.

I report threads that are from people who are asking for weed online or if their posting some other site, ESPECIALLY when they only have 2 posts and you know their spammers. I just tell a mod, I dont negative rep someone. Though ive gotten random negative reps from people but the mods always take care of them for me. (if they were indeed random of course, if I deserved it i'll own up to it). But your not a snitch, your just helping the boards.

That was me the gave jagged the bad rep. The first time I gave it to him was because he snitched then the second time I gave it to him was because of the rep he gave me. But as far as the first time goes, you snitched. Yeah OF COURSE all the mods are gonna appreciate snitching. But that's not your job. That's like going to the cops and telling on some one for smoking weed, then everyone comes up with that line "well if you don't like the rules leave", bullshit. No one on here says "If you don't like the drug laws leave the country". You don't just leave and give up when you don't like a certain thing about something, you try your best to change it.

You snitched and that was wrong.

You know what? This thread has now outlived its purpose.

We do appreciate the assistance when folks draw our attention to trouble. We don't spend our lives on here, and we can't see everything. If you're giving people negative rep for what you see as snitching, that says a lot more about you and your respect for this site than it does about the person who received your negative rep. Frankly, the people on this site who're the most eager to dole out negative rep are inevitably the people who command the least respect themselves.

I like to sit in my high tower like C. Montgomery Burns looking down on the drones in sector G7. I then have Smithers tell one mod that the other mods are taking smack about them and their families and planting poison doughnuts around the breakroom. Soon there will be a mod civil war and the street will flow with the blood of the non-believers. Once there are no mods the boards will break out into total chaos. I will then move in with my armies and take over the world. This is the key to global domination!
