^^ yeah this will be my first time too,im 18 now/ But yeah sometimes you can do it at the city courthouse, but besides that I dunno..google it though. im sure they'll tell you.
Go to the post office and they will give you a form.
Maybe in the revolutionary war. No soldiers died actually protecting our right to vote since then.Quote:

I'm not trying to belittle the accomplishments of people in the service, especially the ones who were KIA, but to say those men and women died protecting my right to vote doesn't really sound truthful at all.
edit...also i retract my admission that you got me on the war of 1812. America declared that war on Britian because American 'war hawks' didn't like Britian's trade policies....also because they took some American sailors captive. Didn't have anything to do with freedom to vote.
The war of 1812........I don't think the English were concerned about any of our rights
WW2.....between Hitler and the Japanese empire you could have kissed your right to vote away.
Afghanistan.........the ultimate goal of these assclowns is to let Sharia law prevail. Kiss ALL your rights away.
There are many reasons why these people gave their lives for us and the right to vote is just one of them. Even if you vote for a party that you know doesn't have a rats ass chance of making it at least you exercised the right that alot of the world doesn't have.

it's never been threatened by anyone more than the person who's been selected to sit in the white house for the last 90 years...except kennedy, he started to turn things around and give speeches about how the office had been taken over...he started to print money backed by silver, pull the troops out of vietnam, dissolve the CIA...Quote:

I guess you could be incredibly broad and say that they died protecting our right to vote but there is still to much about our government's voting system I don't agree with. The electoral college for example... that is basically the governments way of saying the population, in general, is too stupid to really know who they want to vote for. Maybe if our president was decided by popular vote I would consider giving my input but until then or until a candidate comes along that I like (which probably won't happen), I dont think I will be voting.
I'm against the popular vote for the following reason:Quote:

I don't agree...when a president wins the popular vote but looses the election because of electoral votes (like what happened in the 2000 elections) something is wrong. The person that was chosen by a majority of US citizens does not become president. It's like flushing the whole idea of democracy down the toiletQuote:

i'm gonna dop a write in for
American Dad
Thats because it really IS 10% of the thought of the nation. Whether other people agree with eachother or not between states I think each vote should count towards election of the president, not whether or not a state is blue or red.Quote:

whats the point in voting when our vote dont count? whoever the governments wants to be president will be president
Those cities are already leaders of the nation and because of the electoral college all those cities pretty much automatically vote democrat, except for Dallas. If the elections went by popular vote then every republican, democrat, and other party supporter would have an independant voice from the city they live in, instead of the same one every year.Quote:

Interesting concept.......I'm going to see if I can find some voting results by city.Quote:

Here in Canada we pretty much see the states as a one-party system. Only difference between dems and reps is a slight right/left varriation of the same old. (well, I can't speak for all Canadians, but that's how me and my friend's see it)
It's still the lessor of the two evils thingy, but if you don't vote, you might get stuck with another Dubya, curses. There seems to be a lot of stupid voters. How in the hell did he get re-elected? Wasn't one term enough of a wake up call. I think they cheated again, go figure.
P4B the 2000 election was rigged didnt u see farenheight 9/11..Al Gore should be ur president not the numb nuts u have now.
I really really want to but i wont turn 18 til 2009! Although my friend who is very apathetic towards politics said that he'll vote for whoever i tell him too lol.
:S2: .......farenheight 9/11, your joking right?Quote:

If California has ten percent of the population, then it should have ten percent of the say; period.
As for the 2000 election........THANK GOD for the system we have!!
Not really. In fact the 2000 election was not a result of our system of government, but rather the most significant corruption of this system. If anybody researches from a neutral point of view, they will learn that the 2000 election was the second biggest affront to democracy that our great nation has ever seen(second only to the administration that resulted).
The election was fixed, but don't patron fatass Michael Moore. Watch the documentary "Unprecedented" to learn about election irregularties in 2000.Quote:

I just have to say I don't agree with the electoral college, or the whole people dying for our right to vote. I think everyones vote should count directly. There should be no electoral votes. I know the reason my dad doesn't vote is because for one he doesn't agree with hardly any of the politics of the partys, and his vote would be dem, which makes no difference in california. The whole thing about people dying for our right to vote is because people are to stupid that WE actually hold the power, not our goverment. We allow people to have all the power in the world, then we let them decide how much power we should get, which is little to non. It's the whole pyramid system of power that fucks everyone not at the top over. Also most wars are over power, not the right to vote. In a way war is like voting. People on each side oppose eachother and fight over who's view is correct. Now yes, I agree people should vote, but i'm sure some people just don't see their votes counting. The whole voting system is pretty messed up, and people in general are corrupt. People sell the idea of freedom and democracy and instead shove their beliefs down our throats.Anyways i'm going off topic now and I don't even remember what the hell this post was about...I took something unmentionable earlier and yeah....sorry.
