Why do so many men have this problem??

So I was 9 days late on my period, called the doc she said that my body probably got use to the meds and to double it this month. So I wasnt expecting a period but I had a few tampons stashed away for rainy days. Well all of a sudden I started the worse period I have ever had. The regular tampons were not working I was going through them every 30 mins, and it takes about 30 mins to get to town from my house. So I ask my husband if he would go get me a box of super Playtex tampons (I hate tampax). He had the biggest hissy fit in the world. He basiclly refused to do it for me. There was no way I was going to make it to the store without having a major blowout before I got the tampons. I wanted to be at the house so I could at least monitor the situation in a safe place. I dont understand why it is so hard for alot of guys to go to the damn store and get a box of tampons. What the hell???, my husband was like its embarassing. Why??? What are you worried that ppl are going to think your into some freaky shit and are using tampons for butt plugs or something. What is the deal. Its like toilet paper gotta have it.

In the end he did go and get them but only after my dad came up to visit and he got him to go to the store with him. Then on there way back they got rear ended, he should have left when I asked him too and I wouldnt have had to stuff my panties with paper towels, and he wouldnt have gotten rear ended.

Wow hun, im so sorry your dying like that. I used to get awful periods until I started my birth control (only get it once every 3 months now). Some guys are childish. I've had exes act the same way. Luckily John doesn't care haha. I think thats just as bad as guys who think sex and female body is "icky".

Yeah I don't get it. I go to the store to buy my girl tampons when she needs them. Pretty much anyone who sees a dude buying tampons assumes, "he's probably getting em for his girl. What a nice guy."

It pissed me off so bad. I dont understand why he is like that about this. Its just cotton on a damn string.

I use to get My wife's OB's all the time, even when we were just dating, Who cares its just a tampon! I had a friend who had a phobia of them, you could chase him around the room with a tampon out of the wrapper but brand new, If you threw a packaged one at him he freaked.. LOL I honestly don't get the big deal, its just a tampon, oh no cotton fibers....scary stuff.

Probally because they think it's gross because while a new tampon looks nice and clean, the finished product is...ek.

Watching kids buy condoms is one of the most hilarious things you can come across in a store. First they'll put their bottle of water or soda on the counter, then a snickers, then a pack of gum, and last, as if they're just going to sneak it in, a pack of condoms...

I figure it would be hilarious sometime to go to the store, step up to the counter and lay down gum, then condoms, then KY, then a can of pineapple, and lastly, a honeydew melon. And (and this is key) maintain solid eye contact the whole time.

My boyfriend has a fear everything like that. I just dont understand it. He also doesnt like buying condoms or lube. We ran out of lube the other day and had to go to the store and he made me pick it out and carry it around the store while we were picking up some other stuff. I think he's just stupid sometimes

That errand wouldn't have bothered my husband, but there'd have been another problem if he'd been asked to take care of such a task. I could have written the precise brand, the box color, the exact wording, and even the IPC code on a piece of paper. And he'd still somehow have ended up buying and returning with the wrong item.

I hate Tampax brand, too. Playtex is the only way to go. . . . Stock up a couple months' supply at WalMart so you'll be covered next time. Hope the heavy phase passes quickly!

Yeah, this is what my boy does. Whenever we have to get lube, he won't touch it and makes me grab it (even if the one we like is up on the top shelf and I have to jump to reach it) and I have to carry it around and blah blah blah. It's so stupid!!

There is this little porn shop down the road from here and I love going to that place. Ill find some kind of freaky or huge toy pick it up and be like honey come look at this while waving it in the air. When I found midget porn I felt like a kid in the candy store, I really cant wait to get me some of that. Ill throw a midget porn party. I used to have my get my ex's things with the "Big Shop" - i didnt particualy like it but it didnt really bother me - if anyone looked at me funny i would of nutted them. Be a hard man - then people wont assume your ... well... in denial of being a man.

I have to pick up femine products all the time because it seems that all the girls that I date are surprised when it is that time and they are never prepared. Hell sometimes I know it is coming and put some in their purse as a little surprise! Tampons, lube, condoms....no problem. I did though date this girl that had slightly irregular periods so if she was late by 3-4 days she would freak out and I had to buy like 2 or 3 pregnancy tests while we dated. Now that one isn't the funniest thing to buy when you aren't ready. I was always sure though she would not be pregnant because she was just irregular.

My boy (who is 15 mind you) will buy me anything I ask, whether it be a huge box of tampons, lube or multicoloured, flavoured ribbed condoms (LOL). I'm sure if he could buy me a purple dildo, he probably would. He just wants to make me happy, he doesn't give a shit what other people think.

Honestly, I think some men are just stupid.

They also have other uses.
pads for example can double as a sweat band on a hot summers day of mowing the lawn.(Super absorbant for those extra hot days).
They also can be used to dry off the car after a good washing.
knee pads for waxing the floor.
Placed on walls as door gaurds.
Just to name a few
Tampons also have other uses as well

Good for painting.
For decorating a christmas tree.
Also great for hunting (placeing doe urine on them and hanging them in a tree).

I guess i never have been asked to buy them for any of my girlfriends. If she needed them, i would have no problem going and getting them for her, i went with a budy one time because he was scared to get them.. I use to work at a grocery store, and it always made me laugh when you would see the 90 year old ladies buying them.

:S2: Funny, I never got why that was embarrassing, what's so embarrassing about getting laid? I go to the store and buy just one pack of condoms, no water bottle at all. It's funny though, sometimes I get a wierd look if I buy a Rockstar and a box of condoms.

So...he will pretty much do anything he can so that I do not freak out.

Luckily though I have a ton of tampons...and for some odd freaking reason my birth control makes me not get a period anyway..which is kind of cool but kind of freaky at the same time...cause anytime I am having a feeling fat day I automatically think I'm pregnant....

Well now you know to keep a large stock on hand.Your husband can't complain when you buy 10 more boxes when your down to three.Problem solved. That was an easy one .

I had a condom broke once and the girl wouldnt go get a ECP. Hey and this was in high school i went to the pharmacy looked around and then asked the pharmasist for a pack of ECP .....she actually laught at me , i was like what the hell are you laughing at. haa one time at kmart ten years ago, I had some lube and the theft sticker wasn't deactivated when it went through the register...well of course the alarms went off all crazy like when I tried walking out the door. So everyone got to see my inspected items, including the KY. I turned around after hearing a 'hmpf' and who is standing there, watching with high intrest? My old HS principal....I made it a point to give him EYE contact and the best smile I could muster (probably looked more like I'm getting fucked rather than I'm confident and not at all embarrassed)when I was WALKING out (not handcuffed and escorted....lol)... still mortifying all the same.

Many of these men have been shelted and have had a soft life.

I worked for a drug store in my early teens, doing everything from bicycle deliveries to stocking the shelves. Kotex and tampons were big sellers, naturally, and I had to open the cartons and restock the sleves with them all the time. I got used to it - and a lot more. I had worse jobs as well.

Are there any guys on this board who actually worked when they were young, or did mommy, daddy, grandparents, etc., just give them everything they wanted? My wife and I get the Sunday NY Times delivered every week, and the "paper boy" is about 65 years old. When I was a kid we had paper routes. You never see kids shoveling snow, mowing lawns, or doing much of anything any more. They're mostly lazy, fat slobs that eat McDonalds and don't even play outside anymore. It's no wonder the girls are complaining about the teenage boys they know. Not to say that they're much better.....

I had a paper route, mowed lawns, cleaned out leaf gutters, bagged groceries, and as a teen was a gopher and file clerk first for a local pathologist and later for the nasty office manager in my dad's office. During summers in college and med school, I worked for a moving company and still have the bulging disks to prove it. My folks could have handed me everything, I suppose, but they chose not to. Birdie's not a guy, but she worked even harder as a kid and through college and still works like a Trojan now that she's back in school. We have worked hard to instill a work ethic in our son and, fortunately, seem to have been successful. Some of our son's more pampered college chums have a laziness ethic/sense of entitlement that's downright sickening. I know I'm an old fogey compared to the kids you were probably asking this question of.

P.S. I don't have a problem buying tampons or pads.

Tampons are no problem.
When I ran free festivals, I would get cases of condoms and tampons to give away. You'd be surprised how many women needed them.
As for shopping for my GF, I figure, at least they're not Depends....
