Hey all,
This is my Very 1st grow and would really like some advice on how my plant is looking and doing?!
I planted 5 Northern Light seeds and only only has germinated...hummmm,
It is now on it's 3rd week of life!! Is it possible by one of you expert growers out there to tell if this plant is male of female or is it just way too early to tell yet!

Yea, man. That one looks good to me. You're probably gonna have to re-pot her soon and I'd fill the soil up to about a 5mm past the cotyledons (seed leaves). Otherwise, looking good. :D Any new updates?

Anyway just want to say SHE (i soo hope) is still alive and seems to be doing great soo far!!! The lights i have are 100w flourescent and the soil im using was from a grow shop, (not sure of the name) she was repotted last Thursday and on Monday i add a small amount of nuturients to her (see pic)! I keep waiting to see her white pubes but no lucky so far! Anyway all advice and help would be more than appreciated! Happy toking, PeAcE :hippy:

Hi all,
just a quick question to all you experts out there...
How many times does my plant need fertalizing? Is it once a week with ferts then the other week just water?? I am a little confused and dont want to give her too much of the good stuff!!!
I have only done this ONCE, last Wednesday, and used the bottle of ferts in the pic! She (i hope still) is at the start of her 5th week now!

what i do is 2-3 waterings of water, 1 of fert. i water once every 3 days. so its about one fert per week. i think this is ok. IMO you shouldnt believe that giving the plants will bulk up buds or anything. i think its to keep the plant healthy and able to make buds. ofcourse there is a little bit of the other too but not all about that. :)
in your case veg state i havent given per 3 weeks and i noticed the oldest leaves going yellow and brown spotting and the plants are crying for ferts so i am using on them 1 water 1 fert.. just try to look at your plants and learn from how they act and adapt to it i guess is the best thing.
mikee i have used cann nutes for a few years now and the canna grow chart is based on ro water so if you are using tap water make sure you leave it sitting for at least 24 hours to remove the fluoride as it affects the plants worst than normal when using canna.Are you using any of the additives like ritzotonic or zym?I use the ferts once week starting with a ppm of 200 building up to 850ppm in veg but again this can be strain dependant.Less is best with canna nutes as they can burn some strains with higher ppm but ive never had nute burn or deficiency in soil grows keeping within this ppm range with canna.By the way the plant looks good just keep doing what you are doing.be safe the postman.

Well This is week 5 from seed and i have repotted her as the roots started to come through my previous pot.... (STILL WAITING 4 THOSE WHITE PUBES!! - LOL) Gave her a good feeding with some cann nutes and a little water! Here are photos of her today... is it possible to tell the sex yet or should i just keep waiting, all of your expert advice and help is soooooo appreciated!! thanks guys, will keep you all posted with pics!! hairy pubes lol! :D preflowers should appear around 6th week in to veg..but can been seen as early as week 4! :)

Hey all well this is the start of week 6 and this morning i have found 2 very tiny hairs on either side of the 7th node....yipeeeeee at last!!!!!!

Well i kind of need some advice now....
As she has started to show her sex, when is the ideal time to start my 12/12 cycle? How much longer would you veg her for and how much bigger would i expect her to get during the flowering process??
Also... as you can see from the pics (the one with leaf) looks kind of shitty! I have had a couple that are doing that and now the new baby leaf at the top of her is the same, it looks kind of burnt arount the edge and deformed and then grows like the one in the pic with the circles around it, so i was wondering if this is a case of me burning the roots with too much nutes, causing fucked up growth in new leaves? Any advice would be really cool! Happy toking and i will keep you updated with more pics and news soon! well done dude, you aint burnt her,that looks like a animal bite cat etc...... when you flower she will get 2-3times bigger so you can flower when you want depending on the size of your room,well done keep the good work going and if your using canna dont forget to use there canna bud boost.peace:thumbsup:

Hey about the canna bud boost you mentioned...
is the ferts that i am using not for both (it says for growth and bloom?) or should i buy canna bud boost when flowering and stop using the one i have? Much appreciated dude, smoke a phat one! :rastasmoke:
use the boost with your bloom food read the bottle of boost and it will tell you:thumbsup:

Well i have run into some sort of trouble and need some expert advice from you guys as i can't find anything out there on the net!!!

For the last week or so i have been taking her out and leaving her on the window where the sun has been shining on her all day, lots of ventaltion and the weather has been ideal, so i thought!!! By the end of the day she looked like picture two, what the fuck!!!!!!
If i put her back under the 100W flo light she is back to her self about 4 hours later... WHY, WHY DOES SHE DO THIS?
This has happened the last 3 days now.... why do all her leaves just got limp, sunlight? Heat? moving condtions? Any advice would be appreciated, i know you can help!!!!! Happy Toking :jointsmile:
She's letting you know that's pissing her off. Don't move her around that is stressful and can cause her to turn hermie!

I mean surley the sun would be better for her than my 100w flourecent light... or not and also the outdoor temperture being at a nice 29/30C would be ideal! I put her outside for a few hours and had the same result, put her under the light again an within an hour she was fine!!! :thumbsup:

I'd imagine it is like changing bulbs in a tanning bed....when they are new and bright, they burn the hell out of you. When they are old and weak, you can generally stay in there longer. But the other enviromental factors may play a part as well...temp (you said it was good outside but it's still different than your indoor), and humidity..which is obviously going to be different outside than in.
Really I don't know the exact cause, just know that she don't like! lol.

not been around much, but i wanted to give you an update on how my Northern Lights baby girl is doing!!
Well she is 2 months old now and 75cm in height, doing really great and last night turned the timer to 12/12, will post some new photo's soon when she starts to flower!! Happy toking :jointsmile:

Yeah...think your right, i will repot her in the next few days, no roots have come through the bottom so i though she would be ok for a while, thanks for the advice!!! What size would be ideal to last, as i have start to flower her now?
I am using Canna nutes (growth and bloom) and have been since the 3rd or 4th week, didnt really noticed a nute problem, but i will defently keep my eyes on it now you mentioned it!! Thanks dude :stoned:
cool man! i use canna as well - it might just be the photo man! but a few of the leaf tips ar slightly curling? if they are just back of the nuets a lil and it ul be fine!! :D humm pot size..
3-5 gallon man! you'll need to be ready for the growth spurt in flower! :D looking nice man! :D
