I see that most CPU fans have some sort of 3 or 4 pin plug and run off of 12V DC. How do I mke this run off of the 120V AC coming out of my wall sockets?

Use a battery, +/- very easy no stress. . .
huh? i dunno where ur gonna find a 12v battery, i mean there kinda rare and used for random things. U can use an adapter, like the cords with box ac/dc converters for random equipment, or a computer supply but they run alot of power for just a fan. go to radio shack and get a 120v ac to 12v dc converter for like 10 bucks just wire it up and plug it in.Quote:

I use AC adaptors, similar to what you would use to charge a handheld or laptop or power whatever equipment. Ive seen its what almost everybody uses for computer fans. I got them on ebay pretty cheap and you can regulate the output voltage which is a good plus because that way you can control the speed of the fans. Wiring is trivial really.
Good luck ! ...
