Heart rate, and medical cannabis
Hey, since I started taking abilify(thursday) my heart rate has been really fucked up(105 while sitting, 130 while walking, haven't even tried running). Also when I stand I get more lightheaded than usual. Also sometimes when I close my eyes white dots appear everywhere. Kind of like how when i stand up too fast i go blind for a second or two. When I stand up and get light headed I get these painful headaches that last for 15 minutes or so.Parts of my body also keep going numb. I like abilify since it is really helping with my moods and thoughts, but these side effects seem like a lot. OK, now to the REAL question. Should I quit taking abilify immediatley? Also when I go to the medical clinic(finally) in 3 weeks or less, should I tell them about all the side effects I was having with these meds? Would cannabis be better or worse for me than these meds? The truth is, I only like getting "high" once in a while at night before I go to bed. I tend to just smoke enough to medicate. Would the medical clinic simply tell me I should keep trying out the meds? I have been on anti-psychotics for a while now and each one I have taken has either been WAY TOO sedating, or caused a lot of weight gain really fast with few results. I haven't smoked in a while but don't really remember having any heart problems while smoking. This is actually my real question/statement. I was put into Las Encinas Hospital for 1 week where I was diagnosed bi-polar, and put on seroquel. After a month on seroquel I tried committing suicide by taking 12 of the pills, I was on 300mg daily, 1 in the morning, 2 at night. After that I was put on risperdal. Risperidal was short live since it caused tracers in my vision. It also caused me to be more agitated than normal. After 5 days on risperidal I stopped taking it. Next came geodon. Geodon knocked me out for 18 hours the first time I took it. I took it again, and once again I was knocked out for 15 hours. After that my parents just didn't want me to take it. After this I wasn't able to see my doctor for a while. at one point when I lost my internet connection i decided to smoke the whole week. So I began by just smoking a bowl in the morning, when I woke up. Once I started coming down from that I would smoke another bowl, and so on and so fourth, until when I had to go to sleep, I smoked 2 bowls. This method seemed to work well for me. I could concentrate on homework with ease while coming down from the high, I was definatley more calm and less angry, and sleepig and eating were wayyy easier. I can't even think of any side-effects that I had except MAYBE I was a little slower to answer people. I was also in an overall better mood than normal. Ok after this week experiment I went to the doc and told him about it and he just said oh....then he prescribed me abilify after talking with my therapist. They said abilify would help me organize my thoughts and such, also on this day I was diagnosed schizophrenic. Let me just say I thought I found the perfect med with abilify. I've been in a pretty good mood, no angry outbursts, WAYY less anxiety, have a hard time getting depressed or filled with rage. Overall I just feel like a normal person, kinda how I feel when i'm faded.BUT, just TOO MANY NEGATIVES. All the ones stated at the begining, plus more insomnia than normal, and I keep fucking up my speech. Anyways, I am 14 and my parents both agree that medical cannabis could help me. But what do you think my chances are of finding a doctor who will actually give the recommendation?

That'd be up to your doctors, Matt, about whether or not you'd qualify for medical cannabis, but is medical cannbis even prescribed for pediatric patients? Somehow I dont think that's common at all, but perhaps I'm wrong. I don't live in California. You've certainly been put on a heavy-duty round of meds and had an awful lot of diagnoses for a youngster.
Did you meet the famous Dr. Drew Pinsky during your time at Las Encinas? He's the director of the CD unit there, or at least he used to be.

Is that DR Drew from love line? If so yeah, he did this CD class with us, nice guy. A lot of CD classes there, when I was admitted I was sober so they didn't really apply to me. Yes they give medical cannabis to minors but both parents must agree(which both my parents are fully supportive of if it helps me). I'm not sure if I will be able to get it. If so I don't know how much more of all these different failure meds I can take. When I was younger I was prescribed an anti-depressant but never took it due to my parents being against most drugs in general. I've been taking vitamin b supplements and trying to eat healthy as well. I don't really even enjoy getting high THATMUCH. I enjoy it because I don't know how someone couldn't, but I don't like smoking that much unless I have absolutely nothing to do. I was also wondering if there were any pills(somewhat like marinol or sativex) that I could take. Not really so I can get high, but so I can use to cannabinoids as medicine. More opinions are greatly appreciated as I want to go to the clinic with some confidence.
