HELP! NEW AT DWC !! PLANTS VERY DROOPY!
Hi All im new to this forum as well as new to growing using Deep water culture
I have: 2 plants in a 20"x30" Space
400 Watt hps about 2 ft above plants
3 gal containers
soil medium=Hydroton
Air pump and airstone used with each one
IM using a 2 part Nute solution right now, BC veg and BC Cal+mag
I have about 1/2 inch 3/4 inch of Hydroton at the bottom of the pot and then the clone with hydroton surrounding them.
HELP! my clones are drooping terrably in the system! HELP why are they drooping?!

Are the clones in rockwool and surrounded by hydroton or are the clones just sitting in the hydroton? Drooping is usually caused by under/over watering. You are probably doing one of those two or - what are your temps at? Is the space ventilated? Could be too hot. A picture says 1000 words - post one and it will be easier for someone here to help! Also - please post how much water and fertilizer you are using - clones are sensitive at the beginning. Post as much info as possible ASAP - hydro is easy to fuck up quickly.

I had the same problem when my seedlings were young and I never really got to the bottom of it...the best I could figure is that the plants were just drooping because the hydroton was soaked...I never changed my pump time the 24/7 schedule is still goin and once they got a bit bigger then seemed to perk up more and more so next time I believe I'm gonna let the roots just start to get outta nets before I put them in the tank...if I were you I'd try just turning off the pump and watching them repeatedly...if you notice the plants pick themselves up after a while they are probably over watered...you should be able to tell if they are underwatered because the hydroton would be dry
I'd start with that in the troubleshooting process but like tamsinho said a pic and a bit more info on the room and res specs would help greatly
I'll check back a few times tonight if ya happen to post I'll try to post quickly

what is your reservoir water temperature? you want it in the 60s F. Too warm and the plants won't like it. I suspect this since you are using 3 gallon buckets which could easily allow fluctuation in temps. you might consider insulating them.
