anyone Diabetic and smoke for health probs related to it?

Was curious if anyone on here is Diabetic and smoke to help releive health problems related to the disease. I have been reading about the new studies that have been done and where smoking can help with retnal neuropathy, neuropathy in legs feet etc.... I myself am Diabetic and i have neuropathy pains in my legs from time to time that feel like im being stabbed by ice picks...shooting pains down to my feet that tend to render some very intense and excruciating pain. Have also noticed that when i used to smoke more than i do now( because of being on pain management for herniated discs) my vision was better. Now its like my eyes get a little worse every year since i cant smoke as much as i would like. I guess im damned if i do or damned if i dont for being on pain management i had to sign the contract with the doc... where im not supposed to use any illegal drugs "marijuana" so if i get caught im screwed and cant get what i need for when my back really gives me hell and what i take for my back doesnt help with the leg pains... kind sucks haveing to choose between smoking bud to help with leg pains or getting my meds for my back pain which do not help with the leg pain.... and ive tried other drugs from doctor to help with leg pain but nothing helps except pot... thinking of trying to sub my pee with someone who is on same pain meds so i can smoke more freely without worries or just tell the doc im thinking of trying an alternative to the pain meds for my back etc and just smoke....it helps with my back somewhat but not on my bad days.... hope the state i live in will pass for medical marijuana the bill is coming back up this next year and i hope it does then maybe i can releive my pain for both problems in a legal manor and not have to worry about the random pain management blackmail drug testing......

Do you find that the cannabis does bad things for your glucose levels even while it's helping the neuropathy? I've read several bits of research saying cannabis can be detrimental for diabetics, both from a glucose-tolerance and a circulatory standpoint. I'm curious about what you've experienced sugarwise.

I found smoking dropped my blood sugar by 8 points- tested before and after a joint. I don't think that it is statistically significant. My neuropathy, however, has not progressed beyond numbness in my toes. Since I was diagnosed about 4 years ago, I would think that it would have progressed by now, but it hasn't. I did find that taking a mix of cinnamon, ginger, garlic and tummeric (four "0" sized capsules every night), lowers my blood sugar by about 20 points- yes, I tested it out by going a week without my spice. My blood sugar went back up to the 130-140 level, when before it was in the 110- 120s. I take my spice every day now. - Granny:hippy:

smoking also lowers my glucose level down by about 10 points. And no pains in legs when smoking.

It actually helps level out my glucose levels and they are more frequently controled while i smoke than when i dont

Uneducated Dr's would not approve of anything "natural" Bro! You're in a pickle! Yes, Cannabis "could" help you immensely, but not if you're already living in stress! and worried about getting busted! Tread lightly!

I have met people that have reversed Type II diabetes. With exercise and proper diet. It happens. however, I have met disabled people that cannot adhere to a rigid exercise routine. Many take tinctures and have reversed type II diabetes with it. Even hearing some rumbles of it helping keep the B.S. up too, but waiting to see for myself, as usual. I have met 2 people that are controlling their diabetes with a tincture, though.

I live in pain and also have the da-betes. Really sux. I don't think the cannabis effects it at all. As far as chronic pain I have learned all you can do is try and be comfortable. I don't think that using cannabis is always equal to prescription medicine. I do think he lets you escape dwelling on the pains with some mild relief that is far better than what the doctor gives you in the long haul.

The looks of your pain you need to exercise more. Even if you think you are active your body might need more. Its in my down periods that I hurt the most. It will help lower your sugar more than anything you can do outside of medicine. The other thing that has helped me is to eat well and small meals but 4-5 times a day. Also a bedtime snack goes a long way for a diabetic with chronic pain..

2 things to think about, I have neuropathy secondary to a motorcycle accident giving me a teflon infused femur implant so know the deal BUT diabetes is a "metabolic disease" in which a person has high blood sugar either because the body doesn't produce enough insulin or because cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. In a nutshell it isn't good to inhale smoke & that is front & foremost (VAPE ONLY ).... There is interesting research showing that cannabis ingestion DOES HELP WITH NEUROPATHY & I'm living proof.... There are "Anti Inflammatory" properties in cannabis that suggest its a good thing also "neuroprotective" effects that help thwart inflammation of nerves & reduce pain of neuropathy by activating receptors in the body & brain. Secondly, the drugs that are doled out by big pharma will kill ya before any cannabis. Was on big time pain meds & would never touch any glucose inhibitors. Just eat proper & ya not need ta worry!!
