Stolen iPod

Alright , my iPod was stolen. Well kind of , I was going to smoke a blunt at a buddies house at lunch. I was at the smoking pit and this guy I know (not best friends or anything) asked me to listen to them till the end of lunch. I said ok , he had borrowed them before.

The blunt turned into vodka shots and that turned into a little party. So I didn't make it back to school for about 2 and a half hours.

I get out of the car and I remembered I left it with this guy , I cant find him so I go to the last few minutes of class.

I find him after the bell , hes like yoo I lost it. Im like wtf , he said he left it on a table and lost it. I was high and peacefull and im like we'll talk about it tommorow.

I got into the car , my moms like wheres your iPod ( I wear huge sony headphones) I explained to her.

She proceeds to run into the school and confront this guy , shes yellin at him and im just trippin out and telling her to chill out. (Im also very embaressed) Im 17 and my moms getting involved.

So she told him bring it by monday , today comes and he just says he couldn't find em (wtf?) and im a "mommas boy"

I didn't do shit today either , now im not a small guy 5'9 180ish decent shape. Hes bigger but not by much.

My mother wants to call the cops , I dont really want to. I want my iPod back (it was old) but I love it and its a pain in the wallet to buy a new one.

I could fight him instead , but then I would get suspended which could hurt my university admission standings and I probabley wouldn't get the iPod back anyways.

Hes also friends with alot more people then I am ( Im fairly new) .

I just dont know what to do , fight or call the cops or nothing and let Karma deal with him and buy a new one.

just let it go and in future have nothing to do with him, it'll be better in the long run

could be worse, could've stolen your wallet, like someone did to me last friday night, luckily they had the common decency to throw my cards (bankcards etc.) into the local police carpark at the rear of thier station lol... wtf! :wtf:

Dude, you should've done what your mom proceeded to do, have the sense to not leave the issue right then and there. I would've demanded to know when he was going to pay you back. Now he won't take you very seriously unless you do something drastic, like calling the cops.

I'd go back and demand it, and if all else fails, get the school involved, since it happened while you were in school. You can't be flacid about it, demand it.

I already spoke to the school , they could check on the cameras if he really lost it.

They basically told me to go to hell , since its part of the rules that they arent responsible for expensive items.

Ah I know the type of guy you refer to.

The best thing you can do is keep getting on his nuts, to eventually make him feel like an ass, preferably around people he knows. That doesn't mean to get violent, but portray you'd take it to the next level. You gotta make him feel like a bitch.

any suggestions for a replacement

I want a decent sized 4gb + mp3 player , video is nice but not a must.

It should also have cases made for it , I listen to them as I go to sleep and I wouldn't want them cracking if they fall

Shit happens I guess. You could go to the authority's, the school or police. The school won't do anything but get the police involved anyway.

Since it's obvious you're worried about your rep, being in a new school n' town, I suggest you leave it. But don't let the guy feel that he's above you. Keep a close eye on him.
