How much THC do they hold in comparison to trichomes and bud? What makes them so desired when buying?
The orange hairs are just dead pistils from the calyxs (ie the parts of the flower that collect pollen). I'm pretty sure they don't contain much THC themselves, but the more you have the more calyxes you have and calyxes are covered in resin glands.
Actually the pistils has a lot of trichomes. Not only are the trichomes psychoactive but since they are sticky it helps the pollen to stick to the pistils, allow them to curl back into the calyx and eventually later produce a seed...if that bud was pollinated that is. So the hairs are a good part to smoke as well as the calyx's. And orange hairs isn't a desire when buying so don't let anyone fool you making you think that it means the weed is better..
Reallyy? I always thought they were important.
More hairs = the more mature the plant was.
So bud with a little bit of crystals and a ton of red hairs is no better than bud with a little bit of crystals and a bit of red hairs?
Correct. I think everyone will agree that hairs helps none at all when it comes to judging the potency of your bud.Quote:

quality to me usually is how shiney the buds are...crystal wise..and the color of course...if its dirt brown or dark green and not sticky or crystally at all i wouldnt buy it
