Back in the RTP!
Howdy everyone!
We recently moved back to the RTP area, and we're looking to meet up with like-minded folks. He's a published author who finished up graduate school in December, and she's a professional development consultant for education services. We're always looking to make new friends (since our old friends have either moved away or completely flaked out) who enjoy good movies and live music; he's a punker at heart, and she's a DMB fanatic. We're interested in possibly starting a reading group for like-minded activists, and we're also willing to help anyone develop and edit their writing for possible national publication as a favor for new friends (he has three books and a pending movie deal, all edited by her, so we must be doing something right.) We head to Vancouver once a year around Cup time, and we're saving up for Amsterdam for this October if we decide to wait another year before we buy our first house. We're responsible and PRIVATE, and we appreciate friends who do the same while still having a good time (when we decide to really cut loose, we do it at least two states away... no need shitting where we eat, as the saying goes, we save our energy for Burning Man and other festivals.)
Hit us up if you want to hang out sometime. We just want to make good friends like we had in Lower Richmond, BC and in Myrtle Beach.
Slainte,
thewriterandthemuse

Hey,
I'm in RTP area too. What Cup are you referring to in Vancouver? (probably a stupid question, sorry...)
-
Back in the RTP!
The cannabis cup, of course. Then again, we're all about the usual pro-ams found on a day-to-day basis at the Amsterdam around dinnertime as well :D.

Nice. I didn't know there was a cannabis cup anywhere other then then Netherlands. Then again, I'm just an amateur. I'll have myself a pro-am now and again though. I'm down with live music too. I'm a Dave fan and can do punk especially if the band mixes in some Cali-punk style. A Sublime cover band called Bad Fish comes through the area now and again that rocks.
I'm gonna be very busy for the next month or so as I'm working and studying for a bar exam. But reply back if you want to see about gettin' together sometime. I'll have more free time in a month or two.
(I tried leaving an e-mail address, but a moderator deleted the post and said I"m not allowed to leave an e-mail address...).

I am new to the RTP area, and I came here to write novels. You do sound extremely like minded.
I'm also new to this board, in fact, I joined just to reply!
So if we can't give out details like email addresses or anything, how does one actually invite someone over or plan a party?

Hello -
I just moved to Cary after living in Berkeley for decade. We don't know too many people yet, especially none that are THC enthusiasts. I'm always up for meeting creative-yet-responsible people. I have a wife and daughter, so as much as I enjoy it, I don't let it run my life.
Know of any good coffee places near RTP?
Peace,
Josh

Hey All. I've been in Durham for almost five years. I'm still trying to find that "regular" connection, but as far as like-minded people, there are plenty around. Being in your 30's doesn't help as far as finding the thing that brought us all to this site, but networking helps.
Good luck and feel free to hit me up.
Don't know any coffee shops in RTP per se, but Broad St. Cafe in Durham, as well as the couple of shops on 9th St., are a-ok.
