combo or hortilux
hey, i hear how every1 says hortilux bulbs are the shit, and if u run just hps to use one of those. But wouldnt it be more sufficient to have a mh conversion bulb for veg and just a sylvania bulb for the more orangish spectrum in flowering?
I think that these 2 would run u about the same price as 1 hortilux so wouldn't the light spectrums line up better with veg and flower than just using an hps hortilux the whole way thorough and through?
just a few thoughts..

High Tech Garden Supply
I use the 1000w with the conversion bulb. Pretty inexpensive and have gotten great results. This guys customer service great. If you have any questions about his lights just email him or call him. He'd be glad to tell you anything you want to know.

combo or hortilux
I use hortilux with my grows and all is simple and fine. Most major growers (20 Plants +) use just plain HPS for growing and flowering. You might be able to get better results from using first MH during veg then HPS for flower, but I love the one bulb fits all solution in the hortilux. My understanding is that the MH conversion bulbs do not use the maximum wattage provided by the HPS ballest. One bulb for one complete grow is geat.

combo or hortilux
If you are talking about combo fixtures, sun systems makes the best and yes they are more effective then straight hortilux or agrosun gold MH in either phase veg or flower.I only have the 800 combo and its a permanent veg fixture now,but the sunsystems 600 HPS 400 MH must really be a dream.First off, they have the lamps oriented end to end like it should be,growzilla orients their lamps side by side, phooey lol.Plus they are just large, cool running fixtures.I cool my hydrfarm 1K MH in veg but not my 88 combo right next to it,its much larger and runs much cooler.I use 1 K hortilux to flower with vertizontal hoods but I swear if I were to start over it would be 600/400s all the way,veg and flower.
