First thread

As first thread, what was the band that got you into the main genre you listen to now? Slipknot got me into metal, but I don't like them anymore.

2pac got me into rap
as soon as all eyez on me came out
i was hooked

First band that got me into metal was Metallica. ...and justice for all. still to this day one of my all time favorite albums

I'd say Radiohead got me into the alternative music scene.

Deftones brought me to metal though :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

dr dre got me into rap for sure.. my brothers friends would bump him and then i would take my brothers cd's... also eminem did too..

It was Pantera for me. At the time I was playing and listening to a lot of grunge scene music, but then I heard Vulgar Display of Power and it was like a whole new door opened for me.

I went onto Slayer, then Sepultura that lead to Soulfly, Machine Head, Fear Factory, etc...

korn took me into rock...

Pixies were the first band i ever heard that wasnt on the mainstream, most other band i listen too kinda branced out of them in a way.

Good O'l Grateful Dead catapulted me into the jamband scene

my first few cd's that really got me into rap (and these are pretty corny) were: puff daddy - no way out.....mase - harlem world....will smith - big willy style...and last and least corny of them all...eminem - slim shady lp.
