I started growing six and ended up with none, they went to the kangaroos, wallabies, possums, rabbits... I have learnt the hard way to use chicken wire! But I guess you don't have to worry about those animals in the U.S.
I had two sites of fifteen plants each. At these two sites the plants always grow huge, the the existing soil is fantastic. At one site I had a combination of shamen by dutch passion and easy sativa by female seeds. The shamen averaged over a half pound apiece and the easy sativa were in the quarter pound range. I'm done with dutch passion. So far I've tried durban poison, power plant, and shamen. They have a nice germination rate, the shamen in particular is a fast growing plant that puts on impressive buds at the end, but their potency is just average. Whats the point of going to all that trouble growing ouside if your final product isn't something you are proud of and your friends clamour for. From female seeds I've grown easy sativa, grapefruit, cindy99 and their purple, I forget its exact name. The easy sativa is good, nothing to write home to mother though. Above average potency but nothing special , I lost all my purple to mold so I won't be growing that again. The cindy99 and the grapefruit were winners, they weren't ready till early October (42nd latitude) which is just about as long as I can grow. Rain here was constant for three weeks in September when the purple was just about ready so I'm not going to blame the strain for molding. I think any strain nearly finished with rain like we had would have molded up.
Yeilds last time and the past few have been about the same with quite a bit of variation between plants. This is mainly because of the way I like to go about it. My basic MO is to create small sites that finish only 2 each. I like to put between 1 - 2 such beds in a general location and spread them out by about 50 ft. What makes it even more variable, is that I like to put different strains in different spots. I like thourough and tedious prior prepping, but very little tending after that and zero watering. In the past I have done both clones and also put out unknowns and culled the males when they show.
Strains have all been strait Indicas and Indica dominants and all from Sensi. Yeilds vary but an average would be about 5-6 OZ per. An occasional will go up as high as over 1/2 lb. Potency has mostly been better than average, but generally not as good as I got from the Bros Grimm seeds before they went away.
For the next time, I chose all fem seeds from FS. I chose FS Ice as my main, with a 4 pack of FS Grapefruit and a 4 pack of FS NL. I have done this strickly and only for personal medicinal purposes and not for any distribution or profit, so these type of yields have met and exceeded my needs.
