hey everyone i was just wondering, what are some songs that mean a lot to you. songs that make you happy or sad or songs that just make you think a lot about life or someone special. it can be a song that had an impact on your life even. and why? :jointsmile:
REM - Losing my Religion: since I was a real youngster, this song has moved me. Some passionate mandolin in that tune.
Bright Eyes - First Day of my Life: Makes me want to fall in love.
Pretty much anything by atmosphere.
CSNY's Southern Cross has always meant a lot to me. To start with, I'm a sailor... the idea of having to travel and get away from your comfortable surroundings to really find yourself rings true with me.
Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me used to make me bawl my eyes out every time I heard it. The guys at work would fuck with me too.. one of them had the album... bastards! But when I was younger I had a really tough time with breakups, they always got me down. Now that I'm chill with doing my own thing on my own terms, I can finally listen to that song without crying... now I just skip forward to her girlie-power shit, lol! Bonnie Raitt plays a MEAN guitar.

Bittersweet by Big Head Todd and the Monsters is one of my all time faves. I've been there... when you wake up and realize that the relationship that you used to think you wanted has become so threadbare- not BAD- just worn out and sad... That song kind of still gets to me. Plus it's beautiful.
