Some help for a complete noob please? (Stupid questions, sorry I'm a complete noob)
So I've been reading the grow forums for about 5 hours now, looking at different threads and being amazed at people's skills in growing. Some of you have serious talent...*coughTranoblecough*. Anyway, as I'm completely clueless about anything having to do with growing a plant period, I have a few questions. I hope it's ok if I post them here. Again, I'm sorry, most of these questions could probably be answered after a long series of searching, but I would much rather have all my answers in one place. Please no flames :(
1. Why use LST? Should I still use LST if height is not an issue?
2. I'm totally lost on lights. Can anyone please provide a brief introduction to the required wattages for x amount of plants? Say I was just going to grow two plants in the corner of my house. Also, I looked around a bit and noticed there are different light patterns based on how long the plant has been growing. Is there a chart or something that would show the recommended patterns?
3. How long does a plant generally take before it is ready to harvest? (Yes, I'm serious.)
4. How much watering is required? Does this change based on the age of the plant?
5. What is Co2, and how is it used?
6. Is it absolutely necessary to use any nutrients? If so, which?
Please keep in mind, the last thing I grew was a tomato plant in the second grade. I'm well aware these questions make me look retarded. Sorry about that. Hope someone has the patience to help. Thanks guys.
PS, I was unsure where to post this, so if this is in the wrong place please move it.

LSTing is useful if the space calls for a horizontal plant, other than that, it's preference
don't stess too much about lights till you have more experience, if you can get an HPS lamp, it's the most worry free lighting setup. My 250w does fine in a small cabinet. if no HPS you could use fluoros; you only need to keep a close eye by keeping the lights as close as possible to the plants without touching them, and the more light the better.
from seed to harvest, roughly 3 -4 months indoors
water thoroughly and sporadically. memorize how heavy the pot feels when the soil's dry, then soak it good whenever it feels that light again.
supplemental CO2 is useful for accelerated growth but you would have to have several other factors secure for the plant to absorb extra CO2. think about that down the road. just make sure your plants get fresh outside air and stay between 75 and 85 F
the plant needs some form of nutrients in order to grow. commercial ferts have some nutes, but they generally need supplements. you could start out at any plant store and get chemical nutes. 2 types: one with higher nitrogen levels for vegetative growth , one with higher phosphorous and potassium levels for flowering. it's clearly listed on the bottle in the format such as 20-10-10 or 5-15-10 it represents ----> NITROGEN -PHOSPHOROUS-POTASSIUM or N-P-K.
hope this helps. your own experience will be the best teacher, cannabis is not an especially picky plant

Cool, thanks. How long should the light be on per day? Would I just stick to 12/12 for the whole growing period? And is there any way to set up a timer for lights? Also, are there any good strains to begin with? Thanks again.

Crap, forgot to ask one more thing about watering. How much? I don't want to overwater. Or is that possible? Sorry for the dp.

if your growing small, just buy the bloom nutes, let your plant vegg, then give it nutes throughout flowering, it keeps them small and saves money, the bloom nutes are most important for big buds, something high in K..
kp's cannabis college is good, but for a small grow asking specific questions usually works better, and you get more than one opinion...
good luck :)
