harder to stay friends with someone if they dont blaze?

i lost one friend bc they thought i was a 'drug addict' and i always thought that was stupid because so what about what i do it's not like i force it upon anyone, and i always thought i woudl stay friends with all of my non-stoner friends until this past week. This one girl who smokes maybe once a month and me have really drifted bc well my intrisit is smoking and doing other shit, but always being high while i do that other shit. And i just relized that one of my childhood firneds who doesnt smoke i havent spoken to in like a month and thats apparently bc she didnt want to be around me wen i was smoking, becuase she thinks that she will get caught. This is upsetting. Can't people just accept it? i think if you dont go around sticking L's in peoples mouths they shouldn't end a friendship because of it. Sorry i just needed to get that off my chest. It's so upsetting loosing friends.

so what i am saying is do u think you should change just to keep friends or should you just accept that they don't accept you? Becuase im sorry im not going to not smoke bc someone doesnt want me to.

Whatever is more important to you. If I was in your situation I would lay off the herb. In the end, you'll probably be happier having not lost good friends. If all of your friends are worried, you might evaluate your own life and see if they are perhaps justified. Just a thought.

alot of my friends dont smoke, but they accept that i do and dont mind that i do
its hard loosing friends, but if you stop smokin weed it wont be you anymore, so they arent really friends with you. theyre friends with somebody else

Smoking weed isn't worth losing anything over, especially friends.

It's pretty easy to see why people wouldn't accept it...and they shouldn't have to. That doesn't mean they aren't true friends...most people just believe what they hear...it's not really their fault, so you can't really blame them.

this is confusing because all of you are right ... pot is not worth loosing things over ... but smoking is a big part of my lifestyl it makes me who i am, i would not be the same person with out it ... but i stay friends with people who have flaws, so why can't they stay friends with me if my 'flaw' is smoking herb?

Well, you are right. It's a rather difficult issue...because there are multiple perspectives you must see. I guess I'll just have to say that this one is up to you. Try having an educated, serious conversation or something...tell them how you really feel, how you want to continue friendship, but also want to continue your hobby. They'll never know how you feel or what you're thinking without good, quality communication.

I understand what you're saying. My friend Ash thinks I'm addicted to smoking and keeps trying to "help" me. I'm like, you really need not worry about me smoking. I'm no drug addict, but I respect how you want to "help" me. So at least I got people to back me up if I start doing coke again lawl.

i'm the same way, i haven't lost friends, i actually strengthened my friendships with people i've known my entire life so far.

so with ur situation gabee, i would talk to your friend, say you like smoking, it's something you like to do, if you still want to be friends level with them. if they want you hang out with you sober, do it. that way everyone is happy.

and all this drug addict shit, this is pissing me off. i'm watching Lou Dobbs on cnn, and they insist that marijuana smokers are addicts. it seems that way because people gotta smuggle it, keep it off the radar. i've started smoking the past year, i smoked a lot, but i'm on a week of soberness. this isn't the first time, i'm not having withdraw, i don't feel different thant i did 2 years ago when i did nothing. the only thing that weed has done is have me spend my money for it. it's an added comodity to life. a pretty expensive one at that.
