Does Nicotine really vaporize?

Okay, well yesterday I made one of those retarded lightbulb vapes. Having no weed, I decided I would see if it was airtight using some pipe tobacco I had lying around.

I held my zippo under it for about 30 seconds, and a swirly mist filled the bulb. I sucked in (it seemed pretty airtight btw) and felt nothing at all, all I got was the vanilla-y taste from the flavored tobacco.

So I'm wondering if the nicotine actually vaporizes, or if I need to keep the lighter going for longer to reach the optimum temp. Most vapes say 'for tobacco and other herbal use' or something along those lines.

Another question is: is nicotine itself a carcinogen? I've seen people get horrific cases of cancer from dip and chewing tobacco, and I'm curious what chemical is the cause. I read a study that said it might actually be minor radiation exposure due to chemical fertilizers used to yield large tobacco crops, but from what I read, t was only a preliminary study.

So, anyone wanna help me out?

I don't know if this is totally true or not, but what about the use of polonium-210 and lead-210 in the fertilizer. Those substances are radioactive, which could be causing the cancer.

nicotine is poisonous and addictive. the additives are bad to be sure, but tobacco has never been harmless like weed and nicotine is the main active ingredient. i have heard you can die from ingesting 1 drop of pure nicotine.
