It's scabies. It's a mite. You should be able to find a treatment at a pet store. The pet store that I used to work at carried a powder. Careful though, it is an insecticide. Pyrethrins. Same thing as in flea treatments. Go to a pet store though, not an all purpose store.
i've called the pet stores around here and they act like they don't have a clue. there is a feed store that i called that said they had something to treat it. i'm gonna check it out tonight. what sucks even worse than poor jakson getting it, is that he gave it to me and my fiance. we're currently using this permethrin ointment to get rid of it. but if we don't get rid of it on Jakson, it's probably not going to be of much use. he's a beautiful little pit puppy, but if we don't get this fixed soon, he's going to be a hairless puppy. btw, that's Jakson in my avatar picture.
Revolution is the stuff you want,,,but it's not cheap like 60beans...
and you can get this over the counter? (revolution)

cool, thanks! me and jakson really appreciate the help!
there are 6 monthly treatments in a package and the vial size is an amount of one treatment for the size pet you have,,,small dog small vial big dog big vial... get the cheaper small dog one and use 2 vials... only one treatment per month... "FOLLOW THE INTRUCTIONS" don't let your dog lick it...
skink, will this revolution kills only the mites? or does it kill the eggs and larvae as well?
Permethrin is a synthetic form of pyrethrum, just FYI... pyrethrin comes from chrysanthemums and is also an amazing pesticide for cannabis growers... so many uses! :DQuote:
