give me some advice for an amateur...

i'm an international student who just moved from montreal to boston..
in canada i had my canadian friends who were potheads and they would get weed for me anytime i want so i never really worried about finding hookups and all..
but now that i'm new in this town i don't know anybody yet and i'm trying to find some but every person that i ask either don't smoke or says they don't have any. i wish i lived on campus it would've been much easier...
i think that they think i'm a cop or somethin because i really don't look like a guy who would smoke plus i don't know any slangs... is it okay to say 'weed' or 'pot' when i ask? how would you guys approach the person when you're asking for weed? what would you say?

Well, what I don't recommend saying it "Hey! Know any places where I could score some... -raises voice a couple notches- DRUGS?"

Just try and be nonchalant. "Hey man. You smoke.. uhh.. how do I put this.. anything other then cigarettes?" "naw man" "Alright. Thanks anyway. -shrugs- Know where a guy who does could get anything?" That sorta thing. Don't be too blatant. Entrapment is a word of the past. Cops can practically say "Hey man, Im not a cop. Do you have any marijuana of which I may partake for smoking?" without it being entrapment. Bah.. pigs. I could go on forever. But I won't bore you. Canada is way lighter on marijuana then the US. So it might be hard to find a dealer. But once you do, you should be good. Try and see if a co-worker or fellow student can hook ya up. Maybe have a few drinks with someone at a local bar before asking. Lowering their inhibitions is always a good idea before asking about weed. ^.^

This also applies to bowling, fishing and sex.



As to finding a dealer, look for the hippies. Just tell them you are new in the area, and need a few "hook-ups" (emphasize the quotes) and if they know anybody could they point them in your direction?

usually works for me...but then again, I am in Toronto, so...

You could just wait until you see someone smoking weed and ask...

I sometimes say in general conversation god what a shit day I've had cant wait to go home chill with a toke..thus opening the door for discussion on the topic of tokin

Lol mabe they think you'll be talking about coke, then 1 of either 2 things.

1. They think you want a pepsi.
2. They don't think you want a pepsi and then your at the wrong kid of dealers house.

Find some house parties and ask people "where the trees at?"

I live in Boston, and I always say "weed."

But in Boston, there's a tendency for locals aka "townies" to add a 'y' or 'ie' to everything. So you're not going to South Boston to meet Bob and Joe. Instead, "Yah goin' ta Southie ta see Bawbie an' Joey, pallie! Go Red Sawx!".

And so, the last time I got some weed, I rode home on the bike, singing, "I got weed! I got weed! I got weedy-weedy-weedy-weedy-weed!", or something stupid like that.
