LST Overdone?

Here are two different plants I am playing around with LST on. Since they are different strains, its not supposed to be a direct comparison of growth over time - moreover as to how much LST is too much..

I use Glide waxed dental floss and pushpins or stainless steel screws around the perimeter of the pot to tie them down - the waxed strip floss seems to be very stem friendly and I haven't hurt a plant yet, and you can adjust height by turning the pushpins or screws, tightening the floss - anyways.

The first 2 pics are one I definitely vegged way too long IMHO. First pic is right before flower, second is is ~ 5 weeks through flower and although theres tons of budsites, they are all fairly small. Its gonna be a nightmare to trim and manicure. It's basically in a C-Shape underneath everything, circling the perimeter of the pot. Theres lots of foliage in the center area that gets shaded due to just being overwhelmed with vegetation, even though I get to put it right up on the light (within 5 inches).

The last 3 pics are clone thats roughly 3 weeks into flower. As you can see from the (albiet blurry) stem/center view, it was an ideal candidate to LST, - I got to bend several arms over to the sides. Its like a star-type shape looking directly down on it. Also by not vegging it too long, I got a result like fimming/topping, with several main colas, without the plant stress. It will make less individual buds than the first one, but they will be much larger and easier to trim. better light penetration to everything. I could also fit more of them in the bloomroom, since it is in a smaller pot.

Yield, its hard to say this early - but with the size of the buds on the top one, and the abundance of popcorn/shaded stuff that will go right in the hashbag, I might get more actual buddage from the second one.

hey u did a pretty good job, u did veg for a bit to long. try cutting a few fan leaves away for better light penetration , what strain is it look like a 50 50 of sativa and indica by the looks of the leaves sativa characteristics can produce tiny buds u said u had the light 5 inch? now are u using cfl or hps im thinking ur using hps since is 5 inch away, u can get those floros 1 inch from the canopy if ur using them, also what ferts are you using, and one last thing u will notice a huge gain in bud production about a week before harvest just give it time they look really nice and yummy
