how well would this work???
First of all, too all Good Morning!
so im alittle new at the whole crop thang,
i was baking up, and like most my mind started wondering, and i have this spot over yonder and there are a bunch of oaks, pine some redwoodz there and i was wondering if anybody has input about tree top crops. common sense tells me to put it on the east<-->west south facing but what im intrested in is tecniqe for the above subject.
1} should i build a platform?
2}should they hang from tight rope?
3} would there be a pest problem in those^ trees?
4}what kind of container, whats too big whats too small?
5}do blue jays(or any other birds for that matter) like the green grass too :D
input wanted, needed, thanks for your time.
lifes like a giant lemon tree, ^

you first would have to determine wether or not its going to be noticed, in a tree thats pretty obvous, if you build a platform it woul dbe a good idea, take into concideration the weather, they will have to protecive covering, it would be easier to do it in ther ground? out doors always have pest problems

Take a look at the last post in that thread. Actually here I'll just post the pics again. I scanned this from of my buddy's CC magazine. Maybe you can get a couple ideas from this. I really want to see someone do this, it's a cool idea.

thanks for the inputs, and the links now i have somewhat of a mental picture on how to go about it, im going to sit down and set some plans up to make a sharper pic in my head. my last question is what size container should hold a healthy plant, 2 gal? or i was thinking like a pice of like 6"-8" by like 2'-3' ft plastic pipe, filled with soil and a cap at the bottom with drainage holes and a 2" layer of gravel . only thing i wonder is would the roots grow down with the tap root or will they bunch up towards the top and not grow dwn the tube/pipe at all??
more input wanted thank you

If you have a nice spot in the sun I think you will need something bigger than 2 gal pots. I hope anyway. :)
