Zandor, long time no see... How you been?
I remember you saying something like... "Stop feeding nitrogen the last 14 days of flower", is this right, or did I read it wrong? I cant find it anywhere.
I bought some calmag max from millenium, it contains no nitrogen, right now I'm using a Lucas formula of 100-100-200-60, what do you reccomend for late flowering? I was thinking maybe 20-100-200-60????

not to sure about the rest of the stuff, but im pretty sure you want to feed high n lowp for veg... and low n high p for flower, so like a 24-6-18 for veg, and 6-24-18 for flower, and cut firts at least two weeks before flower, then flush... but don't take my word for it...
Sorry forgot to mention...this is my first try at hydro. Thanks for the reply above, but I think not feeding the last 14 days is for dirt, it only takes around 3-7 days for a proper hydro flush
true, it should still be a high n for veg, high p for bloom though...
Ok, Ok.
You should STOP feeding "N" 10-14 day's before you START your flush dirt or hydro.
Sorry for yelling but I needed to make the point.
The reason is this:
The plant will use up the stored chlorophyll and speed up the cure time. There is no need for "N" at this cycle of life, you are cutting it down in a matter of weeks anyway so make the plant use up its stored energy and produce large fat flowers.
When you cut and trim then cure properly this will save you several weeks off the cure time for good quality buds.
Check the FAQ of drying and curing your buds so you do it right if you have questions.
And I am fine supersonicchronic we got moved and I am here now. I still have crap to do on the sale of the other house but all is good now.

Love the show, glad your doin good. It's a tricky time right now for the real estate market. Finally got my med card:D, landed some sour diesel and strawberry diesel, and finally learned how to calculate a good nute mix so hopefully I can produce some nice meds.
Right on..just know with diesel you need to be carefull with nutrients they can over feed on you quickly so watch for that.Quote:

Thanks Zandor. Can you tell me how you do your add backs, cause as I'm understanding I'm stressing the plants by adding back with just plain water. Maybe I should switch to ebb and flow buckets where you have a seperate rez thats always consistent. Right now I have 3 plants in a 12 gallon dwc bin, water is going through a chiller @ 68 degrees, and then going right back in the 12 gallon tub. Pretty much everyday I add back, sometimes with plain water, and sometimes with full strength nutes. I think I need a little more stability.
ok well how about mixing up your nutrients and make it an extra say 20 gallons. Now you have one mix that is now a full rez and then your fill back nutrients too. Just keep up your Ph and top off with those and you are fine.
You do a full water change every 7-10 day's anyway right?
Now if you don't have proper drainage or fast enough to switch out the nutrients anyway from the bucket to the rez then the ph in the bucket can be different then what you have in the rez so just keep that in mind.
