What Would It Take?

how many plants would it take to get 2lbs every 30 days? hydro or soil? or both.
Got waterfarms in mind but think i could get more plants in a smaller place using soil........scrog? i have 2 closets 2' deep by about 7' and 8', have a smaller closets for mothers 2 or 3 and room for clones. i really want to grow masterkush, or any type of kush (or something higher yielding thats as dank/pungent smelling), i have had about 5 smaller grows under the belt with the waterfarms......WHAT WOULD IT TAKE?? :cool:

i would say hydro would be your best bet, its going to take a great amount of light to aim for your goal, i would say 2 600watt hps lights if your a really good grower or 2x1000watt hps lights otherwise.

you need atleast 50-60 days of flower to reach this goal so every 30 days isnt possible, your going to need a good amount of clones as well but i never grew clones so this isnt my area.

your space is good and you need to think of how to vent all this heat and stink this will create.

ventilation would not be a problem, i got 2 window a/c units for the closets going to 2 exhaust fans and charcoal filters. i have a 400w a 250w and a 600w hps set-ups, sux but its what i got......my previous waterfarms grows ive average 4-5 ounces a plant (max was 2 plants at 1 time = 9.5oz using flora nova grow/bloom and northern lights big bud).

i know never to believe what you read, but in the Cannabible3 grape kRush was reported to get 2lbs under 1000watts, i have no experience with that, just letting ya know i can read. good luck.....oh and also the kush strains are potent but lack in yeild...well most of them

2 lbs in 30 days? you are talking multiple rooms, multiple lights, and a lot of plants, you would probably have to have atleast $10,000 just to invest in your whole set up.

hey, your welcome! i really hope you get 2 lbs in 30 days, that would be great! so please tell me how you are going to do this so i could maybe get even half as much weed as you in 30 days. mann, that would be great.

2lbs would probably require another person to help out.

In a single 3.5month grow/harvest @ 1oz per plant you would need to support 32 plants. But thats not 'per month'.

If you wanted 'per month' you would have to have 64 females in your flower chamber at any given time.

I'm surprise no one has mentioned the fact that there IS a way to get a harvest that large every 30 days...it just requires a rotating crop cycle.

Santacruz basically said this, I guess, but it would require a rather large setup. I would argue to say that $10k is a but large of an estimate. You could do it with much less...considering you have a bit of equipment already.


I'm going to think outloud here for a minute...

IF you could pull 3-4 ounces off of one plant (which is entirely possible), that would mean you would require 4 plants for one pound...or 8 plants for 2 pounds. So you would have to be harvesting 8 plants for your 2 pounds.

Then, to get that harvest every month (assuming you have a 8-week strain), you would have to stagger your flowering to harvest 8 plants one month, and 8 plants the next month...and so on. That means, at a minimum, you would have to have 16 moderately-large sized plants in your flowering room at one time. Half would be one month behind the other half.

I'm sure there would be a way you could configure your lights so that they would be able to cover both sets of plants...some being lower than others.


Well, that's all I could think of. Granted, this is an in an ideal situation considering you control all variables. If you want smaller plants...you need more, obviously. Depends on your space and necessities.


Now, why do you need 2 lbs per 30 days? Sounds like you sure can smoke up a lotta weed. I'm sure you're not planning on selling it, right? :) I'm assuming you are just asking this as a hypothetical question, right? Thanks for helping me get my thinking cap on. :D
