3 x 5 x 6 grow space (1000 watt HID) Will it work?

I'm trying to decide on an HID light system for my room. I was going to use a 600 watt hps with a mh conversion bulb, (I was dead set on it, actually) then I found a great deal on a 1000watt cool tube system with switchable ballast. Now I'm worried about heat issues with this system, as I will be pulling air from the grow room and through the cool tube instead of from a cooler source. (outside room)

I'm planing on using a 6" 449 cfm vortex fan, and a 400 cfm rated carbon scrubber with this. I'll also use an oscillating fan inside the room to help with the heat. Do you think this will suffice to control heat using the 1000 watt in such a small space? (Passive intake 8" maybe 12")

I can get the 1000 watt switchable cool tube for just a few dollars more than the 600 watt would cost me. More light = more growth but NOT if I burn my pants to death. I would think the cool tube with fan would be enough but I'm not sure.. ..

What do you think? Will it work or no? If not, I'll go with the air cooled 600 watt system I had planned on getting, but I want the higher lumens now, lol!

For such a small space, I think you're best off going with the 600watter. Heat is going to be a problem, even in the winter, trust me. Get the 1000watter only if you are sure that you can cool the air. What's wrong with starting out small? You can always uprgrade after a nice harvest. ;) Peace.

as hiproglow said no need to use it,1000 watter = 8x8 with plenty of head room cos they get really hot.:rastasmoke:

you can get the light for $200 less if you look around

put a couple of fans at floor level.
i made extra air vents from the blocked off window.
first build a 2"x2" wooden frame around the window.
leave the window open about 4", leave the curtains up, just close them.
leave a 6" gap in the wooden frame where you wanna run your air vent.
fit two 2"x2" wooden frame all along the wall, butting up to the gap so you've now got a 6" channel, (make it as long as you like) cover the end up.
then fit 4" battons every foot or so in the channels (first one against the inside top , next one up against the inside bottom one)and so on, so the air comes through a kinda 's' 's' 's'chicane.this also stops the light coming through.then cover over the top with the same wood you covered the window with.( filler any gaps)
hope this makes sense? this may also cure negative air flow problems.
i've built many growrooms over the years, always glad to help fellow growers.
if it don't make sense maybe i could send you a diagram?
when you fit your charcoal filter( suspended from ceiling by chains?) you can cut a hole in the window board to take the exit tube.

oh forgot,
don't forget to keep a mother plant.
then you can clone next time.( it's quicker than seeds and a stronger smoke too!!)

This has been in the works for almost two years now, lol! Been saving money, and waiting to find a good place to grow in. At first I only had like $800.00 to start with, then an old friend payed an old debt of $1000 a couple days ago. Needless to say, it came right when I wanted it most, lol!

I read all kinds of stuff, but mainly around here. I'll continue to do so, too. I don't know that I'll ever quit learning about growing; it seems there is always some new technique, and it's always good to refresh, imo.
