1st time grower looking for advice
hey whats up everybody? well actually this is my 2nd time, the 1st time was like 2 years ago and ended up being thrown out by my buddies mom(long story) well anyways i just started with 2 plants cause i ended up finding two seeds in one of my pockets while doing laundry. Well I put some stones on the bottom of these two pots then filled the rest with mirracle grow soil. Well they sprouted and I put them on my window cill (I live in the woods...very deep in the woods) but its january otherwise i'd probably have them outside. so uh, i watered them, they seem to be doing fine, going on about a 4 days, about 5 inches tall both of them and i put a teaspoon of mirracle grow in a 1.3 gallon container and watered them with that just once... I also just have a light over them to give them light. I also remmember doing a project in school a while back and using different colored lights to see which one enabled the maximum effects of photocynthesis, well it was red..green did nothing, obviously, and blue seemed to have an accelerated affect when young, but little when in flowering, not sure what thats about, but any ideas on that? but anyways I'm trying to get some really nice buds for summer, I have plenty of time but no funds, besides i live like 5 miles from any store, can anyone guide me on what I can do for best results? thanks

You've already made a mistake. MG soil is no good for plants, spesh seedlings.
The blue/white light spectrum is for vegative growth. Cool CFL's or MH HID.
The red/orange spetrum is for flowering. Warm CFL or HPS HID.
Post these questions in the right forum, you'll get a responce.
The plants do not need ANY ferts untill at least 3 weeks in.
If your using CFL's make sure they're as close to the plant as you can get them.
If your using HID then make sure they are as close as you can get them without buring the plant.
Any other light is crap, so dont bother using them.
CFL - Compact Fluo [the curly lights]
MH - Metal Halide
HPS - High Pressure Sodium
HID - High Intensity Discharge [MH and HPS are HID lights
Growing outdoors is an option, but the light cycle's must be rgiht.
Your probably better off growing inside as you can control the climate.
But dont grow in other peoples houses, only your own. And tell NO ONE.

Bingo!
Blue (Metal Halide or cool white flouros) are great in veg but you need red Sodium lights to flower!
That's all I'll get into here.. this should get moved to growing...see you there.
I think indoors is a great place to grow unless you live with your parents or someone who you refuse to tell about your grow. As long as everyone in the house agrees that you can grow, it's very safe, and lots of fun.

Ummm, I think this should have been in the "basic growing" forum...LIP and stinky have you in the right direction though.
Read the FAQ'S every third day and search the grow forums daily...Read till it hurts.
Good luck...

Well the one in the MG soil is growing far faster and has much bigger leaves than the one in the reg soil(I only planted one in the MG soil which i forgot to mention) I'm not sure of the details on this soil but i know its new, and the plant is growing very fast and its looks really healthy, the other one on the other hand seems to be growing at a normal rate, nice and healthy also, I'll post some pics soon, i've heard that once they get so big that if you pinch the top leaves off they'll grow into more of a bush form rather than looking like tree, can anyone verify this?-thanks for the feed back
