not enough females
Help Please i have planted over 500 seeds this produced only 7 females the seeds were from reputable seed banks and some of the seeds were bred by me i have never tried feminised seeds is it possible to get male plants from feminised seeds? Also i have taken cuttings numerous times and they either rot at the stems or at best they swell at the base of the stem but wont root and then they just die off eventually can any body offer any explanations to all or any of the above problems any advice or theories would be greatly apprecited Cheers Aircon

500 seeds and only one female? What shitty luck you have! Keep plugging away, your luck is bound to change eventually! Buyer beware, even feminised seeds aren't a guarantee! Peace!

Maybe God hates you?
lol, either that or you just have shitty luck

Maybe you aren't waiting quite long enough to make sure they are males?? That's the only thing I can think of....

500 seeds? Please tell me that's an exageration, I don't even think that that's possibly in the laws of probability, unless like Splifted said, God hates you? Lol, just playing. How are you making your clones? Do you use rooting gel or powder? How and where do you cut from? And where do you place these clones? Feminised seeds are actually seeds from hermie plants, they don't guarantee 100% female but there's a higher chance.

Yes, "feminized" seeds can produce male plants, and often produce hermies.
7 out of 500?? Something is definitely wrong. Are you certain of your sexing skills?
Plants that are stressed when young often turn male. Could it be that something in your set-up or regimen is stressing your plants?
Also, excess N will masculinize plants.
This link discusses several methods for increasing the number of female plants:

And then there's the birth control pill thing... Soaking the seeds with a pill before sowing is said to turn them female. I've never tried it, so I can't say how well it works, if at all.
Better luck to you!
