Wondering if we got any New England campers in here? If so where do you head to? Any good off trail camping?
Last summer we canoed the Saco river in 5 days (45ish miles of it). We took our time and many blunts were smoked floating down the river and stuck on many sandbars. Good times but just wish we had more people in our group.
I'm now living in NE, but havn't done any camping since i've been up here..

PM me. I just bought 2 more boats this past summer too... now I've got a 8-foot fiberglass solo canoe, a 16-foot old town BEAST, and a little kayak that's the cutest thing ever... but there are still those days it's too hot to paddle... gotta hop in a tube instead and drag ass down the river.
Sure Stinky. We rented canoes with the insurance policy :thumbsup: Lot of down trees in that river and 2 stoner's navigating around them didn't go over so well 99% of the time.
Saco's a chill river tho, just wish people would pick up after themselfes a bit better there. Where thinking sometime around mid July to early August this year. How is the Deerfield river?

You can make a good 3 day trip of it if you put in at Bill Cosby's house (seriously), camp the first night in Deerfield, stop for Mai Tais at the Wok (bad Chinese place, food=ewwww drinks=a couple and you'll be wondering which end of the paddle to use) right before the Deerfield dumps into the Connecticut, then camp that night on Great Island in Sunderland, and take the boats out under the route 116 bridge. Or you can keep going even further, all the way to Holyoke MA, and there are some spots, but the speedboats get annoying when you get too far south.
One thing about the Deerfield River is that it is ridiculously clean, and the fishing is very nice.
I'd totally love to get a canncom camping trip together... eek... a little scary I know but I can dream, right?A couple members who I'm in touch with via email or phone have also expressed interest in some canoe camping this summer.
