Growth occurs the most during the 12 hour cycle of light. to insure your plants grow the best keep the light out during the dark cycle and growth although not as fast will still occur.
as far as i knew it was at night lights off, atleast to me anyways when i visit the cab first thing lights on they look fatter than the night before, could be just me.
The plant itself grows during the day, but produces resin in the dark. As far as I know! :D I haven't studied it closely really... so take it for what it's worth..
If you want to know when to harvest, it's after a dark period, as strong light does break down THC.
so what do you think stinky harvest right before lights come back on??
...some of us like to go 24-36 hours of dark..before harvest.....:)....
I will try to answer your question for you the best I can.
During the light cycle the plants absorb the light & nutrients; convert it into stored energy and store it in the large fan or sun leaf. The plants do grow in the light cycle and they also grow in the dark period but they also do different things in each cycle. The dark cycle is the rest time the plant needs to use up the stored energy that it produced during the light cycle. It is this time that the plant moves around needed minerals, nutrients and sugars to other areas of the plant that may be lacking. There is a whole transportation system with in the main stock of the plant. This system works best in the dark cycle to move around the food & energy it needs to for make for a happy healthy plant.
That is the short version I hope if answered some of your questions.
Thanks everyone! Soooo much for me to learn but I'm loving every minute of it! Peace.
