Homemade grinder
At dinner last night, I got a great idea. Using a pepper shaker/grinder or seasalt shaker/grinder as an herb grinder. You'd have to make a little bottom to it to keep the weed, but I think it could work as an inexpensive grinder. Anyone tried it before or can someone expirement?

inexpensive grinder?
those plasic ones are super cheap and work perfect.
i know my nugs are alot bigger than peppercorn or salt crystals so it wouldnt really work unless i ground it first.

Sounds like it could be a good idea, but unless you have one of the more expensive pepper grinders where the base turns to do the grinding I dont think you could be succesful, since the inexpensive ones that are already filled with pepper use the turning of the top to grind, and since they do this it would be too much fabrication to make it work. Also, I am now sure how much difference the blades in these would make for grinding, since the grinders usually just sort of thickly chop the pepper, and are kinda dull. Whereas actual grinders use friction.
This again is just a quick guess, I am sure some things weren't considered.

Thats what I was talking about Hertz. Maybe if you found a way to sharpen the blades it could work.

Just go to Wal-Mart and buy a electric grinder for $10. Much quicker and efficiant than using a pepper grinder. Don't make things so complicated. Electricity is our friend. :p
