Samuel Adams Utopias 2005
Any beer drinkers here? A buddy got me this for Xmas and I can't wait to pop it open tomorrow night.. #7090 of 8000 !
"Truly the epitome of brewing's two thousand year evolution, Samuel Adams Utopiasā?¢ offers a flavor not just unlike any other beer but unlike any other beverage in the world. Its warm, sweet flavor is richly highlighted with hints of vanilla, oak and caramel. Our 2003 batch topped out at a record breaking 25.6% ABV, beating the records that Samuel AdamsĀ® Triple BockĀ® and Samuel AdamsĀ® Millennium had set before it. And like those groundbreaking brews, Samuel Adams Utopiasā?¢ is not carbonated and should be served at room temperature. In one of many examples where Samuel Adams Utopiasā?¢ pushed the boundaries of beer, it received the highest recommendation (96-100 points) from the prestigious Wine Enthusiast Magazine (November, 2003 edition).
To create the beer, Sam Adams' brewers used two-row, caramel and Vienna malts, then all four types of noble hops, leaving the beer spicy enough that some call it "fiery." The beer was aged in scotch, cognac and port barrels for several years. The aroma has a "distinctive smell of cinnamon and vanilla with subtle hints of floral, citrus and pine."
Due to legal restrictions, Samuel Adams Utopiasā?¢ can not be sold in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, and West Virginia."

Samuel Adams Utopias 2005
Well, technically, its beer - but its not carbonated. From the reviews I read online its more like a brandy or a port wine. Dunno exactly, I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Wow, that looks nice. 25% is a lot, do you know if it's not carbonated because of the high alcohol content?
Well, let us know how it is. Personally, I'm not a fan of Sam Adams, I have yet to try one that I even like enough to buy a 12 pack of. I think they're over rated, but hey, that's just my opinion. I know a few people who really like it.
Yeah, and in any case, I would take this as judged different than a beer. But it does look interesting, keep up posted.

so how is it anyways? tell us what it tastes like, in terms anyone could understand.... i kinda got the impression it'd taste like hot damn (cinnamon schnaaups <sp?>) mixed with a bit of vanilla, really curious as to what it tastes like, and how strong it is, compared to other alcohols (mainly is it of american beer strenght, foriegn (i'm in america, anything not american is forieng to me, of course i realize this differs considering what country you're in) beer strenght, malt liqour strenght, vodka/rum/whiskey strength or like ever clear strength....
