For Licensed Canadian Medical Users.....And Others :)

Hello everyone!

I have a few questions for the legal medical marijuana licensed users in Canada.

Iâ??ve come across a few websites (for example: http://www.medicalmarihuana.ca/ ) that say they are legally licensed to grow marijuana in Canada and then sell for a low price to licensed medical users in Canada.

Is this true? Or is this some sort of scam? :confused:

Iâ??ve read the government of Canadaâ??s official website on the Medical Marijuana Program, and it does state that a licensed medical user can designate someone else to grow for them, but nothing else is specified (and no other details are provided).

If it is true I would be glad to help out Canadian licensed medical users. I know what its like to have a terrible disease, my father died from cancer (and used marijuana illegally [before the medical laws were passed] to control his nausea from chemotherapy and seizures from the brain tumours), and I currently have another close family member with multiple sclerosis (but cant get the license because its in its early stages, but again she uses it non-legally it to control muscle twitches and headaches because several neurologists say there is nothing they can prescribe for someone in that early of a stage of MS).

So, if itâ??s true, and there are some Canadian licensed medical users out there that are looking for someone to help them out, I am willing to become a legally licensed grower. Either for free (if money is tight because of your illness) or for little cost (and I mean very very little!!). I wish to help the sick, and not profit from it! [Side note about me, Iâ??m a research scientist in the biological sciences, my major was in biology, and I also do have advanced knowledge of botanical sciences, which I believe would help out a lot].

My other question is for other people that visit this site. I noticed there are several compassion clubs through out Canada. They say all you need is a doctorâ??s note and theyâ??ll provide you with the marijuana.

How are they not busted?? The police know they have large quantities of marijuana in their premises, and they advertise it on their websites. So how are they not busted, but people that grow a few plants for themselves get frequently arrested? (Both arenâ??t technically legal, so how does one qualify for arrest [with minor amounts] and the other doesnâ??t get touched [with a lot more than personal growers would have])? It doesnâ??t make any sense and seems to send a mixed signal.

My other question is about people on this website. How are the people that post images of their grows on this website not arrested? Some have posted grow photos for several years and they seem never to have been arrested. How is this possible? (I mean come on, everyone know the police must visit this site very frequently so how come thereâ??s never been a message posted by someone that says â??so-and-so has been arrested for their grow, and thus wont be coming here anymoreâ?�) It seems very unusual since they can track IP addresses and everything. I mean good for you guys, because itâ??s a silly law, but it doesnâ??t make sense, since so many advertise openly what they do.

The legality of medical MJ is very poor in Canada.

The only thing that is 100% legal is that patents can smoke legally.

Essentially the government gives them a little ticket saying cops wont bust them for tokin then send them out into the world to find cannabis.

Anyone that distributes or grows cannabis in Canada is illegal. (bar science and government and the acctual card holder)

Compassion clubs are illegal! The cops don’t bust them because they only deal to legal people, and I guess that since they obviously shouldn’t bust these helpful places they don’t. But they could.

Medical cannabis in Canada is “de facto legal” ie the laws are not enforced to people surrounding the production of medical cannabis.
But, for this form of legalization to change it takes no public debate, no vote in the house, just a call from the PM to the head cop to change everything. I wouldn’t get involved under the current government!

The compassion clubs dont only deal with legal people. They state that maybe 10% of the people that come in are legally licensed med users, and that the other 90% only have a doctors note (which is not legal in anyway) because they dont qualify to be licensed. (I mean its good will and compassion that they dont get busted because they help the sick!)

But again it seems to send a very mixed message. If you have any medical condition (even if it doesnt quantify using marijuana) you can easily find a doctor to write you a note and go to a club and obtain marijuana. So people that want to abuse the system and honor will do so.

What about who supplies these compassion clubs? They must number in the hundreds, how are they left alone? Are they left alone because there would be negative media focus for the government and police if they are arrested, and there would be protest from med-users?

I agree why doesnt the government just settle this issue? If it takes them a few days to declare Quebec a nation, then why cant they alter the marijuana laws that quickly?

It would save hundreds of millions of dollars from taxpayers. And I'm surprised they havent done it by now since the government loves money and they look to cut funding, and make a profit, so why dont they make it legal for adults to grow (have people purchase licenses, like fishing licenses, and have people renew it every 2 years or so, that way its legal, and they collect tax from it)
Then everyone would win!

Are there no licensed med-users that visit this site that could clarify the truth with 100% certainty?

This seems like an odd statement, that if your condition doesn't even have a legitimate use for marijuana, doctors give you a prescription anyway..... I know form first hand experience with all the painkillers I've gone through that doctors are incredibly weary of young fellows looking for a high.

But even if that's not the case, I'd rather have a medical doctor decide what's best to put into my body than some politician who arbitrarily decides he can legislate my lifestyle based on propogandized hysteria from movements like "Reefer Madness" and onward. If anybody is qualified to legislate my health decisions, not that it's justifiable, it would be a doctor long before a politician.

I'm just saying there is high probabilty that people abuse the system of compassion clubs. Just because there are so many medical conditions that rely on the patients word, for example chronic pain. There is no test that says, yes this person has pain, the doctor relies on the patients word. There are many conditions where that is the case too. So people that want to abuse the system will use those conditions to get a doctors note.

For example: I heard Andy Dick's son speak on the Howard Stern show. And he said he is a licensed med-user in California. And asked how he got licensed, he replied "for anorexia".......then he began laughing. Howard then asked him, "you don have anorexia, do you" and he said no I just wanted to.....(then his dad Andy stepped in and changed the subject).

So if he was able to abuse the system and actually get licensed, it would be much easier to people just to get a doctors note and go to compassion clubs.

I saw that same episode of howard stern. I live in so cal. There are so many people that abuse medical marjiuana down here where I live. All the Og'ers or whatever you wanna call them buyings loads of the stuff daily..
