Interesting Christmas Eve

So a little background on this story. I smoke once in a while and I knew my mom used to and my stepdad does to this day. So I come home from church with my mom on Christmas Eve and I go downstairs until dinner. I had actually talked to my mom about my cousin smoking pot (I didn't rat him out, she brought it up because he got caught by his mom taking a rip from a 5' bong lol.) and I was saying how I didn't want to and how I've never tried it. So I come up for dinner and I realise my stepdad is fucking drunk as hell, which I've never really seen. He is like "Pat, have I ever told you how much I love your mother?" He is crying and shit so I'm trying to understand what he is saying and he is like "You are a good kid. We know you like to have a little fun, we're not stupid, but we've all done it, we're not going to condemn you for doing something we've all done." and basically tells me I have to go one way or the other, and he thinks I'm going to go the bad way a little, but then go the good way, and how I have potential and such. Now, this is totally a surprise because I had no idea that he had a clue. But fuck it now I know they don't care, and as long as I don't fuck up or get bad grades, they don't really care. Sweet. And then he is like "I think I am going to buy you a dirt bike" (WTF?) Merry Christmas all.
