Weird Pipe...anyone heard of anything like it?

I have this pipe a friend of mine brought back from Costa Rica that is more or less a thimble, a stainless steel piece that slides out to extend the mouth piece further away, and a coin to cap the timble (no hole in the side either, sorry i forget the actual name of the little hole). The whole thing is decorated with clay really cool so it looks like a guys face smoking a cigar with a hat on, the coin/top of the hat lifts off to expose the bowl. Has anyone ever seen anything like this/know the name of such a piece/smoked one? I'm a beginner and have never smoked from it...not really sure exactly how to...yeah im lame i know haha.

Sounds like you smoke it like a chillum, use the coin to cap the bowl off when your done with your hit.

And your thinking of a carb/shotgun hole.
